  • Daily Devotions: Lukewarm Christians - December 10, 2025
    Dec 10 2025
Revelation 3:14–16 (ESV) “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation. I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of my mouth.’” In today’s Daily Devotions with Pastor David Sumrall, we hear Jesus’ stern warning to the church at Laodicea. He says that being lukewarm, neither cold nor hot, is more dangerous than being cold or hot. Spiritual complacency, half-hearted faith, and indecisive living are what He wants to spit out. This message calls us to examine our hearts. Instead of drifting quietly in comfort, let’s stay close to the flame—God Himself—so our faith remains alive and fervent. Lukewarm commitment allows spiritual decay; staying rooted in God keeps us “hot” for Him. Let today be a challenge to ditch spiritual complacency and live with passion, purpose, and wholehearted devotion. ---- Discover fundamental truths and the power of Scripture with Pastor David E. • Daily Devotions: Living On Your Reputation - December 9, 2025
    Dec 9 2025
Revelation 3:1–2 (ESV) “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God.’” In today’s Daily Devotions with Pastor David Sumrall, we look at the church in Sardis, a group of believers who were living on an old reputation. People said they were alive, but Jesus said the truth was very different. Their past accomplishments were real, but their present service had grown weak and incomplete. This passage reminds us that living as a Christian is not about what we used to do for God. There is no retirement from serving, no “used to be” in the Kingdom. Jesus calls us to wake up, strengthen what remains, and keep serving until the day we go to heaven. Let this devotion encourage you to return to active ministry, step back into involvement, and finish the work God has entrusted to you. ---- Discover fundamental truths and the power of Scripture with Pastor David E. • Daily Devotions: Don't Let It Change You - December 8, 2025
    Dec 8 2025
Revelation 2:12–13 (ESV) - “And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: ‘The words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword. I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. Yet you hold fast my name, and you did not deny my faith even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.’” In today’s Daily Devotions with Pastor David Sumrall, we look at the church in Pergamum, a place described as the very city where Satan had his throne. Surrounded by intense spiritual darkness and persecution, these believers stayed true to the name of Jesus and refused to renounce their faith. Their environment was filled with demonic influence, yet they remained steadfast. This passage reminds us that our surroundings do not have to shape our character or our convictions. Even when culture pressures us to compromise or blend in, Scripture calls us to stay faithful. With God’s help, we can stand firm no matter where we live or what spiritual climate we face.
