    Our first episode of 2021 features our FIRST GUEST, Robbie Imbrie! He sneaks into our Zoom meeting, and then, he sneaks into our hearts. In this episode, The Poetry Pals (plus one) discuss the Victorian Era and Potential Pirate Poet, Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The poems to be slammed are:

    • "The Prisoner"
    • "Perplexed Music"
    • "A Thought For A Lonely Death-Bed"

     The crew explores the importance of cereal, the sponsors E.B.B. may have used if she had a podcast in Victorian England, and of course Robbie Imbrie's life as a tiny little mouse.

    It is discovered near the end of the episode that Mike's birthday is JUST ONE DAY before the release of this episode, so on behalf of Poetry SLAMMED and the universe, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE!

    It's New Year's Eve, and a fresh coat of snow covers the beer soaked streets of Milwaukee. Only Mike, Michelle, and Connor can help you ring in the new year right with the works of poet and novelist, Rudyard Kipling. The poems to be slammed are:

    • "The Way Through the Woods"
    • "Untimely"

    New Year's Eve traditions and resolutions are discussed, as well as The Jungle Book and "Big Yellow Taxi" by Counting Crows

    In lieu of a Poetry Corner, the Poetry Pals read the very appropriate poem "New Year's Resolutions" by Rudyard Kipling.
