Bobbie Eakes and Melissa Neiderman start this week’s Pop City off talking about the joys of home remodeling as Bobbie and husband David Steen are hip deep in sawdust as they update their new home in Georgia.

So many charitable organizations are feeling the pinch of the pandemic. Some are faced with shutting down, others have had to furlough staff, and some continue to work through the constraints of sheltering in place but still provide necessary services that help those in need. This week, the ladies talk with Frank Conway. He splits his time between the Big Apple and the Desert Cities. Although he is currently in Palm Desert, he remains busy working on fund raising events with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and talks about the mission and events the organization produces from funds raised on both The Great White Way and from Broadway shows that tour the nation. This week, Bobbie Eakes and Melissa Neiderman welcome a couple of very talented friends.

Musician and actor Rick Springfield who has had mega-chart success with hits like Jessie's Girl, I've Done Everything For You, Don't Talk to Strangers, Affair of the Heart, and Love Somebody has a new song that he co-created as part of a COVID-19 pandemic web series - Ultimate Mini Series: The 60-Second Guide to Songwriting with a Partner - with friend and fellow musician and comic Vance DeGeneres (Ellen's brother). It's called The Wall Will Fall and it's available right now from Apple's iTunes and on Amazon. All of the songs proceeds go to support http://www.FeedingAmerica.org. Melissa and her husband (and Springfield band member) Tim Gross are among the many friends, family and musical artists who appear in the song's video.

Then, a high school friend of Bobbie's, Karen Dunkley visits and talks about her story series, I See You: Stories From Behind The Doors based on her work as an intensive care nurse.

You'll find Karen's writing on Facebook at:
