  • #6 - Part 2 - Inclusion : a challenge to better build the world of tomorrow
    Feb 28 2022

For the second part of our positive.leaders’ episode on inclusion, we continue our conversation with Amelie Jezabel Mariage, Co-founder of Aprendices Visuales, and Nicolas Froissard, general director and spokesperson for the SOS group.

The first part of this episode focused on how both are furthering the cause of inclusion and bringing about change in their respective fields, along with how people respond to today's inclusion challenges.

While there is still much work to be done, both agreed that there are signs of a shift toward greater inclusion.

In this part, we look at inclusion from a broader perspective, examining the role that institutions, culture, and businesses can play in favour of greater inclusion.

We talk about the role Europe could play in accelerating the transformation towards more inclusive societies, as well as what we can reasonably hope to achieve by 2030 and what makes them optimistic about the future?

  • #6 - Part 1 - Inclusion : a challenge to better build the world of tomorrow
    Feb 14 2022

Inclusion is regularly presented as key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Yet, it often feels like advancing inclusion in all layers of society is easier said than done.

In this episode of Positive.leaders we explore how two positive leaders are breaking down barriers at their level and how we could accelerate change on a bigger scale.

Amelie Jezabel Mariage is the co-founder of Aprendices Visuales, a Spanish tech for good that harnesses the power of visual learning to help children reach their full potential. Nicolas Froissard is the general director and spokesperson for the SOS group that develops solutions to combat all forms of exclusion through a social entrepreneurship approach.

In this first part, Amelie tells us how her personal experience motivated her to set up Aprendices Visuales, and what role technology could play in creating more inclusive education systems. Nicolas explains how the SOS group tackles exclusion in different fields, the main challenges they face.

Together they discuss the place given to inclusion in the public debate.

  • #5 - Sustainable fashion: Can green be the new black ?
    Jan 18 2022

We’ve all heard it before: fashion, and in particular fast fashion, is one of the most polluting industries. So how can we put unsustainable practices out of fashion?

In this episode of #Positive Leaders, we look at how Aigle, a French clothing and footwear label, and Rifo, an Italian circular fashion startup, are driving change in the garment and footwear industries. Sandrine Conseiller, CEO of Aigle, believes that customers are now conscious of their impact and vote through their wallets.

We learn about the motivation behind Aigle’s decision to become a mission-driven company, as well as the implications for the production line. Niccolo Cipriani, tells us about the journey that led him to leave his job for the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Vietnam and launch Rifo in Italy, a social enterprise manufacturing garments and accessories from recycled and recyclable textile fibers.

Together, we explore how to entice more people to choose sustainable fashion brands, how more traditional companies can take concrete actions to act for the common good, if there is an evolution in the demand for sustainable fashion, what role Europe can play in this transition, as well as how legislation and culture can help accelerate the change.
