  • Psalm 40 is a testimony, not only of David in the Bible, but also a testimony of God's people reminding us of not only what the Lord has done for us in the past, but how we can deepen our trust in the LORD, especiallly in times of trouble.

    Why? Because Psalm 40 is not only David's testimony or our testimony as God's people yet today, it is Christ's testimony.

    Psalm 40 points us directly to Christ to remind us that God is the God who came near to deliver His people from their greatest need, which points us to our salvation that is found only in Christ.

    Because Christ, the Eternal Son of God, came from heaven to earth all the way to the cross to deliver His people from their greatest problem, there is no trouble that the LORD is not able to come near and help and deliver His people this day now!

    Psalm 40 is a beautiful intertwined testimony reminding us that God is the God who came and who still comes near to His people yet today!
