Beautiful Taquito is a small, 50 pound, female, 2-year-old German Shepherd dog who came in to us on March 22nd as a stray from Berrien Center. She was adopted in April – but her owner had health issues that caused him to have to surrender her back to us in August. He told us that she is a fantastic dog, and we agree! She is housetrained, great on a leash, smart and sweet. Taquito has done well with kids, but is not a fan of other dogs, at least in the shelter. We have done a test with our shelter cat; she and they didn’t seem to mind each other very much, so we think she might do well with a slow introduction. German Shepherds tend to struggle in the shelter environment, and you can feel Taquito’s anxiety level rising. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. • October 26 9:30-12 we have our Annual Spooktacular Trunk or Treat. A lot of local businesses will be here with trunks full of candy! Bring your kids in costume to get candy and maybe meet some adoptable dogs! Businesses are welcome to come bring trunks!

Taz is a drop of sweetness wrapped in a snazzy tabby cat coat! All he wants from his new family is to be loved. Taz had something wrong with his eye when he came to us and we had to have it removed. That has not squelched his kitten energy one bit! Taz's favorite playtime activities include climbing cat trees, chasing springs and wand toys, and wrestling with a fellow foster kitten. When he isn't playing, Taz is a cuddly boy who gives kisses and likes to curl up with you for a nap. The humans who adopt him will no doubt be extra compassionate and have boundless affection! Taz's estimated birthday is 06/22/2024, he is neutered and fully vaccinated.
