What’s good community? On today’s episode of the Rad Chats podcast, we’ll be sitting down with the model citizen himself, Wet Wipes Actual.

Wet Wipes and I first connected when he and Aggro the Creator were having their war of the Goon Tape builds. At the time I thought there was heat between them, but soon learned the competition was all in good fun.

After talking for a few months on Instagram over our shared love of all things 2A and mental health, Wipes and I decided to meet up in person. It was during this meeting that the Dead Friend Society was born, thanks to some shared experiences with death…and maybe a few dirty martinis as well.

During our conversation, you’ll hear Wipes and I get into that story, along with all things mental health, his creative process, who exactly the Model Citizen is, the need to check on your homies, the surprising importance of sending it, and extending the olive branch in order to normalize gun culture.

What’s good community? On today’s episode of the Rad Chats podcast, we’ll be sitting down with none other than Myk of Rusk Co.

For those that don’t know, Myk was the first brand I reached out to after RC’s inception, and we quickly became friends. Rusk Co also happens to be the first RC collab, a little RC Australia and RC USA connection if you will.

This was definitely a fun one to record thanks to Myk’s humor and hot takes. We get into quite a few topics, including our experiences with running a small business, Rusk Co’s rebrand, Australian gel soft, the importance of being kind to yourself, getting out of your own head, and of course never being stagnant #NEVERSTAGNAT.

We did have a few audio issues during this episode, shout out technology, as you’ll hear some clicking throughout the thirty minutes or so. I was unable to remove a majority of these without ruining the integrity of Myk’s audio.

You’ll hear me jump in around the 30 minute mark to provide context and fill in the gaps where our connection started to get spotty.

Could we have re-recorded the episode? Sure. But as you’ll hear, there were so many candid insights that we wouldn’t have been able to recreate if we redid the episode.

I'm stoked to release this conversation as Mariely is actually the one who pushed me to start this podcast somewhere around the time my episode on the Stoked EDC podcast aired. After that episode aired, Mariely reached out to ask if I had ever considered doing a podcast. I don't believe there are any coincidences in life, and that this was a sign that I needed to start this podcast as I had been thinking about it since the beginning of RC.

So who is Mariely and what is the MDT Method? Mariely is a veteran, a former Marine, a NASM certified personal trainer, a massage therapist, and an all around badass helping women to take control of their lives through fitness. We get into so many amazing topics from relationships, staying true to you, taking control of your own life, not expecting anything from others, her connection to spirituality and fitness, and much more. But really the main thing is Mariely's holistic approach to training that is so amazing.

What’s good community? I’ve been itching to release this week’s episode for a while now, as we’re talking with one of my favorite people in the 2A space, Starlitdeath.

In a world filled with fakes, Star pretends to be no one but herself. As she puts it, Starlitdeath is a “sort of mental health, cosplay, gun guru person”. I don’t know if there’s anyone better at blending their various interests into one cohesive, functioning image.

It’s this unique blend of self-ownership from Star that inspired what would become the Mental Monday posts on our Instagram, which in turn inspired this podcast.

Every week you can find Star sharing different aspects of her interests–one day it could be a video from her competition shooting, and the next you could see Star finding a way to connect cosplay to mental health, all while providing easily-digestible context and practicals to better oneself.

Our rad chat was just about as diverse as both of our interests, as Star and I get into everything from gear and cosplay, to 45 vs 9 mil, the challenges around battling the stigma of being a 2A supporter, and even dive into some heavier stuff at the end.
