  • Episode 26 | Rae Reviews Sweet Magnolias
    Jul 18 2020

Sweet Magnolias brings many of our favorite faces back to TV; we’ve got Jamie Lynn Spears, JoAnna Garcia and Chris Klein. I had Medium-low expectations for this show, but I was still surprised by the finished product. Listen in as I discuss why I’m so conflicted about this show. Although, by the end of the review, I think I reach a definitive decision…

  • Episode 24 | Rae Reviews #BlackAF
    Jul 11 2020

#BlackAF was a much-discussed topic during it’s initial release. Black Twitter seemed divided over it, so I’m here to weigh in. Take a listen to see if I’m a fan of the comedy or if it should be ejected into space with all the other TV flops.

    The Process:

I’ve crafted my own rubric for shows, music, books and movies, which is what my reviews are based on. In the end I land on a rating (out of five), but I try not to focus so much on the number. We all have different tastes so I try to give a very fair review and I try to be very transparent about my biases. My goal is to highlight things that I enjoy, but I understand the need to highlight movies made by, starring, and centered around people of color. For that reason, you might find lesser known movies, music and shows.
