  • S9 E6 | Pixel Pushing Our Way to Better UX w/0xdesigner
    Aug 29 2024

In this episode, we’re speaking with 0xdesigner about all things design, anonymity, and UX/UI in web3.

This is the longest episode in Rehash history, but we had so much to talk about and 0xdesigner graciously gave us almost two hours of his time to share his thoughts on all things consumer crypto, UX improvements, and the design space.

0xdesigner is primarily a product designer who has been putting out a new UX/UI design each day for the past 1.5 years, usually some sort of UX or design improvement to an existing app or envisioning a new app.

Not only does he have so many clever and creative ideas he shares every day, but he also has so much optimism and enthusiasm for crypto throughout all the highs and lows over the past few years. He truly believes in a future that’s enhanced by crypto and blockchain and is focused every day on working toward that goal.

0xdesigner was nominated by Ernest Kou and voted onto the podcast by Brenner Spear, Tom Scaria, Magenta Ceiba, Ernest Kou, Nick Naraghi, Lucas, Birb, Amy Jung, fifthworldzach, Maz, and David Phelps.

  • S9 E5 | Is Public Goods Funding Sustainable? w/Sophia Dew (Celo)
    Aug 22 2024

In this episode, we’re speaking with Sophia Dew, DevRel Engineering Lead at Celo, about all things onchain funding and what goes into launching a layer 2 blockchain.

Sophia joined Celo about a month ago, and prior to that she was working on Public Goods Network, or PGN, a layer 2 blockchain focused on public goods. PGN ended up running out of money and winding down but Sophia learned tons of lessons along the way about maintaining a blockchain that she shares with us in this episode.

We then did a deep dive into onchain funding - what new things it enables, why it’s important, and Sophia gives lots of examples of use cases or apps she would love to see get built out in the onchain funding arena.

Sophia was nominated by Nicole (by way of Triumph) and voted onto the podcast by Richie Bonilla, Andy Boyan, Meg Lister, David Phelps, Rachael Amy, and Triumph.

  • S9 E4 | What is Data Availability? w/Rene Lubov (Celestia)
    Aug 15 2024

In this episode, we’re speaking with Rene Lubov, software engineer at Celestia, about data availability (DA), or what Rene prefers to call data publishing.

Rene is one of the founding engineers at Celestia and breaks down for us everything we need to know about DA and how it’s implemented at Celestia. We also talk about modularity in blockchains, light nodes, and other technical concepts that you may have heard of before but maybe don’t have a clear understanding of just yet. She does a great job of explaining all of these concepts clearly.

On a more personal level, Rene also shares about her background, how she taught herself to code, what protocol engineering is (hint: it’s very different from app development or smart contract coding), what it was like being a founding engineer at Celestia, and her experience as a woman in crypto having joined way back in the early days.

Rene was nominated for Rehash by Tina and voted onto the podcast by Tina, Jimmy Chang, Hudson Jameson, Queen Wartooth, and David Phelps.

  • S9 E3 | Fractional Work, AI Learning Models, and Bitcoin Developer Ecosystem w/Bethany Crystal
    Aug 8 2024

In this episode, we’re speaking with Bethany Crystal about all things fractional work, using AI to improve learning and workflows, and we wrap up with a quick discussion on the Bitcoin developer ecosystem.

Bethany is the web3 fractional work queen, and she shares very openly in this episode about her experience as a fractional worker in web3, what her process looks like, and practical tips for others to think outside of the box about how they want to work.

As a mother of two and hobbyist of many things, Bethany has had to think creatively about how she can find the best balance for herself to do all the things she wants to do in life. For her, the answer was fractional work, or working on various projects on a contract or part time basis so that she has time for other aspects of life she enjoys and so that she can have her curiosity constantly satisfied with a variety of projects.

She talks about some of the pros and cons to being a fractional worker, the types of people she believes are best suited for the job, and gives us practical tips for identifying our core skillsets and finding work. She also shares some of the ways she’s been using AI to aid in her workflow and help her learn new skills at a much faster rate as well.

Bethany was nominated by DeFi Beats and voted onto the podcast by DeFi Beats, Parker Jay-Pachirat, Birb, Triumph, fifthworldzach, David Phelps, Spencer Graham, Andy Boyan, and Nick Naraghi.

  • S9 E1 | The Future of Digital Art, Galleries, and Community Building for Artists w/P1A
    Jul 11 2024

To kick off Season 9, we are speaking with P1A, a contemporary artist, educator, and founder based in Istanbul, about all things web3 and art. We reflect on the NFT craze of 2021, and P1A shares why even though the hype has died down, NFTs are in fact not dead and on the contrary, art NFTs have a long way to grow and develop.

We also talk about the work she’s doing at her studio in Istanbul called Yazane, where she’s helping educate other local artists about web3 and the impact that blockchain can have on their careers as artists. She not only uses the space as a gathering place and educational center but also as a gallery for local artists to be able to exhibit their works without paying the exorbitant fees they would to traditional galleries.

P1A was nominated by David Phelps and voted onto the podcast by David Phelps, Richie Bonilla, Forage, and Triumph.
