  • He Went To The Bathroom & Never Came Back
    Feb 18 2026

We asked Sydney about their worst ghosting stories after playing Ricki's song "Ghost" which she wrote about a best friend who just vanished one day. The stories did not disappoint: a woman's ex-husband texted her while she was at coffee saying "I don't wish to continue this marriage" and by the time she got home he'd taken half their savings and disappeared for years, someone's dry cleaner shut up shop with her engagement party dress inside and was never seen again, and a woman's barista gave her his number for a walking date then literally went to the bathroom and never returned.

Sydney at 6 featured Tom Hanks being loud and American at a North Sydney cricket shop, then we heard about a handicapped woman who got fined for using her only hand to touch her phone while driving. We played our first game of 'Can I Have The First Line', discovered an Olympic plastic surgeon whose name is way too perfect for his job, and Bruce Isaacs joined us for What Cha Watching with the top 3 things to stream right now. A Sunshine Coast legend painted a boat on his fence after neighbours complained about the real one being an eyesore, Sydney called in with brutal ghosting stories including an ex-husband who texted "I'm out" and vanished with half their savings, and Tim declared Jacob Elordi is full of himself.

  • Genius Move: Man Paints Boat On Fence After Neighbour Complains
    Feb 17 2026

A Sunshine Coast bloke got a council notice after neighbours complained his boat was an eyesore, so he moved it behind the fence and hired an artist to paint a hyper-realistic mural of the boat on the fence instead—such a brilliant payback that even a council staffer came by to congratulate him. We've all been there with neighbour wars, including Ricki whose Avalon neighbours banged on the door asking her and Sam Smith to stop belting Whitney Houston on the deck because "the whole neighbourhood is talking about the terrible singing."

  • Tom Hanks Was Loud & American At Sydney Cricket Shop
    Feb 17 2026

Maeve from the North Sydney Cricket Centre called in to tell us about Tom Hanks shopping for cricket gear with his son, and she revealed he wasn't keeping a low profile at all—he was loud, enthusiastic, and very American tourist about the whole thing. It took her a minute to recognise him despite being one of the biggest movie stars of all time, and Tim's surprised he didn't walk in with his head down and a cap on like most celebrities would.

  • Gold Coast Backpacker Went In With A Stomach Bug & Left With A Baby
    Feb 17 2026

British backpacker Hattie Sheppard, 21, walked into Gold Coast emergency with what she thought was a stomach flu and left 10 hours later with a healthy baby girl named Isla-Grace—having had no bump, no morning sickness, and being on the pill the entire time. Turns out the baby was growing toward her spine in what's known as a cryptic pregnancy, which affects about 1 in 2,500 pregnancies in Australia.

  • Full Show | Lainey Wilson Cove Tunnel!
    Feb 16 2026

Sydney at 6 tackled the run club culture taking over Bondi at 6am which some are calling un-Australian, plus we covered the X-rated Sydney stories including the explicit lawn art and the Barangaroo cinema incident. New Zealand hosting the first ever State of Origin sparked debate, Joe Hildebrand joined us For The Record to explain the new Anzac Day public holiday, and we heard about cryptic pregnancies after a British backpacker walked into Gold Coast emergency with a stomach bug and left with a baby. Tom Hanks got spotted at a Sydney cricket store, and country superstar Lainey Wilson showed up after her massive Qudos show having only gone to sleep at 2am to chat Dolly Parton, Australian crowds, and play Sing with us.

  • Lainey Wilson Went To Sleep At 2AM & Still Showed Up For Us
    Feb 16 2026

Country superstar Lainey Wilson joined us fresh off her massive Qudos Bank Arena show, revealing she didn't go to sleep until 2am because the energy exchange with the crowd was so intense she couldn't come down. She opened up about working with her dear friend Dolly Parton (who has a custom one-sided headphone so she doesn't mess up her hair), why Australian crowds feel special because country isn't oversaturated here, and how her band leader wrote "Can't Sit Still" about her because he's watched her chase this dream for 10 years—and we made her prove she can actually sit still long enough to play Sing with us.

  • For The Record | Why Did NSW Take So Long To Give Us An Extra Public Holiday?
    Feb 16 2026

Joe Hildebrand joined us to break down Chris Minns' announcement that Monday April 27 is officially a public holiday after Anzac Day falls on a Saturday, making NSW finally catch up with states like WA and the ACT who've been doing this for years. Joe explained why NSW has historically had the fewest public holidays in the country, whether two-up is legal all weekend (it's not, Saturday only), and why some businesses are fuming about penalty rates despite everyone else celebrating a long weekend.
