  • Episode 34: Navigating through family trauma with Christine Chen (@xoxochristinechen)
    Dec 14 2021

Tis the season, the holiday season! For better or worse... most people are spending a lot of time with FAMILY. In that case there is no better timing and person in Christine Chen, Life coach extraordinaire and my lovely fiance, to talk about Intergenerational Trauma aka Family Trauma. Are you part of a family that shuts down and shuts you down or brushes things under the rug becoming emotionally avoidant or has explosive fights but never works towards any type of conflict resolution or understanding? It is toxic, can be frustrating, and damaging but you are not alone because Christine and I have dealt and are still currently navigating through this type of intergenerational trauma with our respective families. This trauma and pain is real and deeply rooted in our community, culture, and upbringing that goes way back in time. As we examine how these traumas affect us and how to deal and grow from them, hopefully this conversation helps you navigate these tumultuous environments and leads you towards a place of inner healing and safety.

  • Episode 33: Men in Pain
    Dec 7 2021

There are so many reasons to create this episode about Men in Pain, which is really the conversation on the topic of Men and their mental health. Whether you are a man that struggles with this very darkness or you know somebody in your life affected by it, this is for you. I have felt alone, isolated, letting my past mistakes dictate my present and future, and felt trapped in the darkness of not being able to feel, express, and understand my emotions and traumas in life. We simply can't ignore that men die by suicide 3.5 times more often than women. Forty-nine percent of men feel more depressed than they admit to people in their lives. About 6 of every 10 men experience at least one trauma in their lives. I am one of those men and ready to shine a light into this darkness and tell my story in hopes it can help others. I've been to my lowest of lows contemplating suicide. This is a story of my pain that has grown to a story of healing against many odds. I never ever imagined I could be here right now with the ability to share all the lows in my life and attach meaning to it. If you are here, you are not alone, we are not alone, we can build a better mental health future together.

  • Episode 30: Social Media - How to avoid DOOMscrolling with Regina Fang (@regina.fang)
    Nov 9 2021

When discussing SOCIAL MEDIA, the bane of our existence, whether that be current TikTok trends or how we can avoid doomscrolling, I thought of one perfect reinforcement to bring on to have this fun conversation. She is REGINA FANG (my personal source for all things trending), founder of slow fashion clothing brand 'At Last' and cohost of my favorite podcast 'Perfectly Imperfect'. We discuss how social media has evolved for us on a personal use basis since it came into our lives from 2005 until now. Sometimes it feels like there are more cons than pros, negatives than positives to how social media affects us in our every day lives. Given how toxic it can potentially be, we break down how difficult it is to find the right balance and approach to how we spend time and energy on these addictive apps.

  • Episode 29: MEN and LOVE
    Nov 2 2021

I'm a man ready to talk about LOVE! How often do we encounter men in our lives that get squeamish, awkward, and extremely uncomfortable when talking about love? There is a reason for this! In this episode I examine this very struggle. How does the experience of growing up with the societal rules of masculinity affect how men process love? We are going to analyze 'the why' this problem exists. Can we unlock the mysteries of the male mind that relates to love? If women are searching long and far for the key, but men are oblivious with their own quest to grow and understand the nuances of love, we are stuck in a rock and a hard place. The journey may be difficult, but the conversation needs to start for awareness and growth to happen in the L word. Finally we try to answer another age old question: Does unconditional love exist? It's all related and the path to enlightenment is the same journey with love!

With love, thank you for tuning in. - your host Jack
