  • Trusting in the Way, Truth and Life (John 14) Chris Teien
    Aug 4 2024

Come hear how trusting in Jesus brings peace and assurance in a world full of uncertainties. In John 14:1-6, Jesus assures his disciples that he is the only way to the Father, the embodiment of truth, and the source of eternal life. This is one of Jesus’ most important teachings that lead Christians to find comfort and courage in trusting in Jesus as their guide, their source of truth in a world full of lies, and their ultimate hope for eternal life. It challenges individuals to surrender their doubts and fears, and to fully rely on Jesus in all aspects of their lives. Be encouraged to trust that Jesus is not just one option among many, but the exclusive and perfect way to God. He is the embodiment of truth in a world of deceits, and the only source of true and eternal life. We are also having communion.

This passage transcends mere hygiene; it teaches us to embody Jesus’s care and humility towards others. Come and be inspired to have the heart of a humble servant leader who mirrors Jesus’ compassion and concern for others.

  • Bowling Over Doubts with Faith (John 10) Chris Teien
    Jul 14 2024

In John 10 we read about the people in the Temple pressing Jesus to tell them if he is the Messiah. Jesus replies that he has already told them and then lists the evidence that should help them in their struggle to believe. Currently, there is a trend to “deconstruct faith” that often leads confused people to walk away from their religious beliefs. Like a bowling ball striking down all the bowling pins, solid faith bowls strikes down pins of doubt and disbelief. In this passage, Jesus says that those who are truly His do believe, follow Him, and are eternally secure in Him. Come to Rockwell Church this Sunday to be encouraged to find answers that will enable you to bowl over doubts with faith.

  • Breaking the Chains of Shame and Regret (John 8) Chris Teien
    Jul 7 2024

In John 8 we read how Jesus showed grace and disarmed hypocrites for a woman caught in a shameful sin. Our evil adversary tempts us to give into sin, tries to push us away from abiding in Christ by his accusations, and tries to paralyze our Christian walk and works through our deep regret. This story is amazing and encouraging, but Bible scholars reveal that it might not be part of the original Gospel of John. Come to Rockwell Church this Sunday to be encouraged to break the chains of shame and regret while also seeing the Bible that we have is reliable and authoritative. It is also Communion Sunday.

Jesus healed a blind man on the Sabbath and instead of celebrating that man’s healing, the Pharisees got angry at Jesus because He broke their Sabbath regulations and they also threw the formerly blind man out of the synagogue. Jesus used this opportunity to share how He can heal people from spiritual blindness. Listen and be encouraged to have spiritual sight to see what God has for you and insight on how to deal with those who are still spiritually blind.
