  • Roslyn McLarty always knew she wanted to be an entrepreneur, the trigger to her life as an entrepreneur came like most good ideas from a personal pain point, a need for a sports media platform that spoke to women today. Roslyn is the co-founder of a rapidly growing sports media brand ‘The GIST’ creating sports content for women by women and empowering underserved sports fans. Everyone wants to be a part of the watercooler chat, for many women, sports can feel like a boys club, exclusionary and intimidating, generally male dominated. Here are a couple stats. Less than 14 percent of sports journalists are female. Less than four percent of sports media coverage is on female athletes, and less than two percent of C Suite executives in major sports leagues are women. Sports is one of our social currencies bringing people together, The GIST strives to make sports more inclusive, relatable and funny, making something that can be intimidating into something fun and approachable for brands.
