Run with purpose: How runners are saving the lives of premature babies

  • Resumen

  • In this episode, we had the privilege of speaking with Sophie Smith OAM.

Sophie's story is one of resilience, compassion and hope. Having experienced the unimaginable loss of three premature babies, she chose not to let grief define her. Instead, Sophie channelled her energy into a remarkable charity - ‘Running For Premature Babies’.

Through her sheer determination to turn pain into purpose, Sophie and her community has raised nearly $6 million to provide lifesaving equipment for premature babies. Every dollar brings hope and ensures that these tiny fighters have the best possible chance at survival. Sophie’s story is testament to the incredible power of one person's vision and the impact we can make when we come together…and run together, for a purpose that’s bigger than ourselves.

As September approaches, Sophie is lacing up her running shoes once again, preparing to conquer the Sydney marathon and we cannot wait to cheer her on!

We also get an update about a massive milestone from James Constantine, who also shares what's coming up for our Sydney Marathon Run Clubs.
