  • More Like a See You Later and Embracing the Pivot
    Mar 16 2023

They say all good things come to an end, and this is one of those things. We've loved sharing our thoughts on life in podcast format, but have decided to continue Say So Collective in a different format (we promise more details to come as we flesh everything out). Thank you all for riding with us and listening to each episode as they went live. It's bittersweet, but pivoting is something we will always advocate for if it is necessary. With that said, we'll see y'all over on our socials with more details on our next steps!

  • What Happened to Black History Month in 2023?!
    Mar 2 2023

Black History Month this year was...quiet to say the least. In 2021, we saw brands throwing out campaigns left and right to Black creators as a means to rectify the diversity and inclusion issues that were brought to light in 2020, but it kinda feels like that momentum somehow came to a screeching halt.

We dive more into our disappointment with the lack of #BHM campaigns that we saw and what it actually means to be inclusive and an ally in the influencer space. Spoiler alert: it's more than posting a black square in solidarity.

  • How Many Boundaries do You Have to Give Up to be an Influencer?
    Feb 10 2023

Oh to be an influencer. To share things that we love and to get to work with brands that we've always admired. And then there's the transparency. Sharing more about our personal struggles, wins, triumphs, and losses. But...do we sort of give up these boundaries in order to be an influencer?? Is it necessary for us to share every single detail pertaining to our lives in order to be considered transparent and authentic? And what if people start to cross those boundaries and feel that they have access to things that you never talked about? We share our thoughts on this and what we actually feel comfortable sharing online and things we like to keep to ourselves.

  • Entering the Dating Era, Gatekeeping the Black Community, and Making Goals??
    Feb 2 2023

Kicking off S2 with Seyi entering her dating era! To know her is to know that this is a pretty big deal. Our girl Yvette is now a married woman (remember S1, E12 when she talked about her and her husband's journey as a couple)! And Amina made a pretty big life change that we like to call entering her self love era. Honestly, so much has changed in less than 6 months and we are getting right into it with this episode. So buckle up, grab some tea/coffee, and maybe a snack or two because THE GANG IS BACK! :)

  • Giving an Ultimatum to your Significant Other & The Dangers of Looking at "Potential"
    Aug 19 2022

Long overdue topic? Maybe! In this episode we talk about all of our current relationship statuses (or current based on the recording of this episode) and our thoughts on giving ultimatums to your significant other. Is it something that is necessary? Can it produce a positive result or will it just yield contempt?

Yvette talks about her relationship with her now fiancé and their journey to getting to this next phase.

Amina shares more about her experience from being in a longer term relationship to now being engaged.

Seyi shares more insight into the single life (spoiler alert...humbling).

  • Hitting Your Goals: Overrated or Nah?
    Aug 11 2022

Unpopular opinion: it's ok to not hit your goals. It's ok to step away from a goal and reevaluate. It's even ok to pivot from a goal. We get very honest about some of the goals we haven't hit, how they made us feel, and how we are focused on pushing forward.

  • Self Love Journeys | Why Self-Care Isn't a Fix for True Wellness
    Aug 5 2022

#SelfCare has been all over social media for the past several years, but maybe there's a reason it seems we need so much of it. Today we're sharing our own personal Self Love Journeys that have surpassed Self Care and made us realize that true self care and self love is a journey, not an activity.

Weigh in on your own Self Love Journey and what you've learned at @sayso_collective on IG!
