Seminole Softball Wrap: FSU softball's Allison Royalty on journey through change, growth and perseverance

  • Resumen

  • The Seminole Softball Wrap podcast is back with its first episode of the 2024-2025 offseason. This time hosts Gwyn Rhodes and Brian Pellerin are joined by a special guest — former Florida State pitcher Allison Royalty. In her two years in garnet and gold, Royalty held a 2.70 ERA across 55 appearances, totalling 15 wins. In the early parts of the 2024 season, the Arizona State transfer rose to an ace role before her season and college career were ultimately cut short due to injuries. In this interview, Allison shares stories from her time in Tallahassee including: The injury that forced her to end her the year early, when she knew it was time to stop and how long she pitched through pain. Her perspective on what allowed FSU’s freshmen to find so much success this season and why she expects the growth from the team this year to propel the Noles back to OKC in 2025. Her experience in the transfer portal from entering her name to taking visits and eventyally picking a school and why the Florida State coaching staff is what ultimately led her to choose FSU over an in-state rival. And how Coacha’s guidance both on and off the field helped her grow as a player and person through the challenges of a new school and feeling uncertain of her mechanics.
