Session 13: The Four Attachment Styles

  • Resumen

  • All about attachments is an episode around what it’s like to go through our life with different attachment styles!

“The ‘need to belong’ is one of the main forces that drives individuals.”

As always, we asked YOU for any questions you might have about starting therapy, and as per usual you guys came through =D

We thought hard and long about each question, and here is the final product!

    In this session, we cover:

The four types of attachment styles:

    • secure
    • avoidant (aka dismissive, or anxious-avoidant in children)
      • How avoidant attachment style affects adult relationships
    • anxious (aka preoccupied, or anxious-ambivalent in children)
      • How ambivalent attachment style affects adult relationships
    • disorganized (aka fearful-avoidant in children)
      • How disorganized attachment style affects adult relationships

We always welcome feedback and want to hear about your interpretation of the episode! What did you like? What did we miss? What would you like to hear more of?

Having a specific attachment style shouldn’t put you in a box, but rather a helpful tool in understand why we do what we do! If you’d like to share a story with us, we’d love to hear it.

As always, thank you for being here! We are eternally grateful!

    Xoxo,
