    Today’s episode focuses on a very interesting and innovative person. Skye Blackburn is the founder on the “Edible Bug Shop”, one of the first companies in Australia to make their products out of invisible insect protein. 

    Skye talks about her love of bugs throughout her childhood and how it lead her studying entomology and food science at university. This, combined with a trip to Thailand, gave her the idea of creating food out of bugs and investigating the nutritional benefits behind it. 

    She also discusses the impact of how the educational program part of her business is starting to change the perception of eating insect protein in children from a young age. She also explains during the pandemic, thousands of schools have been signing up for online educational programs for the children to learn about and sample this source of protein. 

    Skye also gives her best tips on successfully growing her business and talks about time management and how to stay organised. She also talks about the struggles of running a business while having a family and children and how it’s viewed by other people.

    Alicia loves her career, loves trademarks and she believes it’s all about the people. Exploring people and their business is always something she has been passionate about. She also shared her experience from her youth and what drives her passion as a businesswoman.

    Alicia credits the experience of having her first child as truly impactful. It’s also this experience that helped her become time-efficient, as she is able to get the maximum out each and every day.

    Alicia has a clear vision on what she wants, what she is passionate about, and the journey she is on.  ‘Having faith that things will be okay.’ This is what maintains her success when she faces diversity. Alicia believes things are happening for her but not to her.

    This episode looks at a person who’s centred her career around social justice. She is the founder of VIVAS, a community and content hub for vegan women. She’s worked as a journalist for 24 years for in several businesses such as Forbes. Katrina Fox is also a speaker, a podcast host and author of “Vegan Ventures”. 

    Katrina talks about her aspirations for vegan women, like herself, to start to gain confidence and share their stories of being vegan and her admiration for confident, but not arrogant, women. She also talks about coming back from burning out in her dream job and how that affected both her career and her physical health. Katrina discusses her secrets to success and importance of self-care and getting enough sleep.

    Katrina also talks about her role models and how they have helped her gain confidence to believe she can be successful in anything she puts her mind to. She also explains to point at which you need to stop putting yourself on a pedestal, the point where confidence becomes arrogance.

  • Justine Martin - Health, Attitude and Positivity

    In this episode, we sit down with an amazing lady, she is a resilient consultant, speaker, author, and artist. Her name is Justine Martin. In the past 10 years, she diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and has battled three cancers. None of this beat her up. She decided to work as a resilience consultant and speaker, plus an advocate for medical care. She courage audience to fight for their own future and never lose hope. 

    Justine shares her experience how she manages multitask and switch between different capacity. She explains how to draw one piece of artwork by using spare moments. It’s all about time management, consistently and attitude. 

    Furthermore, Justine brings a serious manner about being abused as a disability person.  Once in a carpark with her daughter, she parked her car on disability parking spot and been treated rudely by others. 

    Her positive and empower attitude has motivated more people during this Covid pandemic. Justine shared her own way go through this pandemic period. 

    What doesn’t kill her make her stronger, Justine shows strong passion to life. She inspired various people from all the way she can connect with them, through empower members of the public, business owners, corporate teams, schools, and charitable and educational 
    organizations.  

    She is a multi-award-winning artist, Justine runs wellness and art therapy classes in her studio in Marshall, Geelong. Her own artwork is available to purchase at JUZT Art Gallery located at Café Zoo in Drysdale.

  • Brihony Dawson – Gender, Confidence, Performing

    Today’s episode focuses on a very interesting person who’s gone through a lot of challenges to get where they are now. They are a songwriter, TV presenter, entertainer, vocalist, MC and head of Hank Lives Here Productions. They are the lead singer of LadyHood with an astounding 49.2 thousand followers on Instagram and have performed at events such as the Melbourne Cup and Sydney Mardi Gras. Today’s guest, Brihony Dawson (they/them) spent a lot time at the start of their career getting rejected and turned down at every corner but has brilliantly managed make a successful brand for themself and strives to continue growing every day.

    Brihony talks about their experience of enhancing their business skills during lock-down and found a love of watching their company grow month to month. They are also a very successful businessperson who prides themselves on being the reliable and responsible entertainer compared to the stereotypical unreliable ones. They have also spent time in LA and Nashville learning from those who believe “making it big” is possible, and not just a dream. They have also worked with so many amazing people while developing their song-writing skills and preaches to always be the least talented in the room as a way learn and grow.

    They have faced their own challenges with gender identity and hope other people struggling with gender identity can draw on their experiences, so that those people can feel comfortable with being what they can see as opposed to what they cannot see.

    On today’s episode I am super excited to introduce you to an Amazing woman who is one of Australia's leading personal trainers, runs a leading fitness studio, right here in Melbourne Australia, is a proud mother, wife and mentor to many. Kirsty Robbie is the Co-Founder of Studio Forty Six with her husband Dean and has been leading the way in personal training across Australia for over 20 years and boast a long list of healthy and happy clients. Kirsty is also the proud mother of 2 young boys, 10 and 14, and she has been blown away by how much her kids have grown during lockdown. A lot of rest, sleeping and eating well has been a blessing during this time.

    Kirsty talked about how having a routine, albeit not the same routine, but a routine all the same has been incredibly important for helping others get through the lock-down. She loves to incorporate exercise with her kids at the local golf course, whilst locked down and finding things they enjoy to keep them active. She has found that the personality type of her clients, has indicated which clients better respond to the virtual delivery and this has no doubt been a challenge for her business. She is a champion for changing behaviour, motivating her clients and getting them into the mode of regular exercise and movement. She is really passionate about the mental health side of her client's fitness. She grew up in a house full of boys, losing her mum unfortunately at the age of 14. Her first job was in a transport company and then she spent time in the Forestry industry. She learnt a lot about influence, persuasion and communication working from a young age and she notes that men and women are most certainly different.

    Some fun facts about Kirsty:

    She barrocks for the Mighty Melbourne Demons and her Dad actually played for them.

    She starts her day with a glass of warm water.

    Every day without fail she walks her golden retriever before lunch

    She credits her dad for being a huge influence in her development and career from a very early age.

    She is a certified Les Mills instructor and one of the first.

    She was an award winning gymnast as a child.

She is the Head Wellness Consultant at Drake Wellness Club, Founder at Play Like A Girl Australia, VFLW Player at Port Melbourne Football Club, and Founder & Chief Growth Officer at the Hive Business Club. Our guest is Holly Bailey!


    She was raised in a high-pressure sporting environment, she has worked as a community builder in several organisations, helping to not only foster a positive working environment internally, but grow the business through networking and business development.

    Holly’s dedication to her career not only resides in the corporate sector, but on the field as a VFLW player at Port Melbourne Football Club. Many life lessons have come to Holly through sport, the most obvious being the need to prioritise wellbeing and weave it into everyday life.

    Holly is a passionate advocate for the advancement of girls in sport and leadership. In 2016 she channelled her passion into a movement she founded called Play Like a Girl, an initiative dedicated to the empowerment of girls and women through the power of sport, inspiring a new generation of confident, healthy and successful leaders.

    She is a passionate advocate for the advancement of girls in sport and leadership
