  • 350 - How to Thrive During a Challenging Season
    Jul 16 2024

Hey everyone, welcome to our milestone 350th episode! Can you believe it? This is what happens when you're loving the process. The things we think will take forever to achieve sometimes happen before we even realize it.

In today’s episode, we’re diving into a live stream recording from this week about thriving during challenging seasons. I want to share the transformation I experienced during circumstances that could have brought me down completely. Instead of just weathering a challenging season, let's think about how to thrive during or after it. Or better yet, how do we alchemize a challenging season?

Alchemy is all about converting something of a lower nature into something of a higher nature. So, how can you alchemize a challenging season? Whether you're facing difficulties in your personal or professional life, there's a profound gift in every challenge. You just have to focus on it.

I'll be talking about the three things I did to shift from a challenging season to a new season of absolutely thriving. This topic has been on my heart for a while now. It's amazing to think about the difference a year can make in terms of where we are and the challenges we've overcome.

As a company, we're experiencing phenomenal growth. You'll hear about what this season has in store for the She Sells brand moving forward, the vision for the podcast, and how we're bringing that vision to life.

    Show Notes:

[2:54] - Alchemy is converting something in a lower nature into something of a higher nature. How can you alchemize a challenging season?

[7:17] - What got you here, won’t get you to the next step. That is part of the process.

[9:23] - We have had several live streams that you could attend live, but now we will be sharing them more frequently on the podcast!

[12:03] - The live stream recording begins.

    [13:26] - What a difference a year can make.

[15:01] - We can’t avoid challenging seasons, but we can harness them and use them for our own growth.

[17:13] - Have you had a situation in your life when everything suddenly changes quickly and you have to figure out how to handle it?

[18:52] - When we’re in it, we’re in survival mode. It might be hard to see the other side.

[23:30] - Once you realize the gift you are receiving, you drop the resistance.

[26:39] - We don’t get what we want. We get what we are. So become the person who has what you want.

[29:10] - When you are in these hard seasons, you are becoming the person you want to be.

[31:02] - You can start to see the parts of you that are not a match for the level you are aspiring for.

[32:04] - When you set an intention for your next level of growth, you get to “mold the clay.”

[5:40] - During some rough stages, Matthew and Kim sought coaching and did everything to improve their relationship.

[7:37] - It doesn’t happen overnight. We have to work on ourselves first before we can successfully work on our relationship with others.

[9:05] - Marriage enrichment is being open to outside sources to help you and coach you along in your relationship.

[10:40] - Our families and upbringing play a role in our marriage. Sometimes these things show up as baggage.

[13:10] - You have to have a conversation about how you experience love. What did love look like for you growing up?

[15:36] - We come to any new relationship with triggers.

[18:57] - Mediocre relationships can be transformed into something red hot.

[20:20] - We need to be intentional about spending time together even when life is pulling us in different directions. We need to prioritize our spouse.

[22:48] - We need to model to each other how we want to be pursued.

[25:06] - We all want to feel seen, heard and appreciated.

[28:49] - You have the right to share how you want your partner to show up, especially if you are showing up for them.

[30:49] - When you have success in a personal relationship, it overflows into your professional relationships, too.

[32:14] - If you are growing but your partner is not, there needs to be a conversation.

[35:35] - Sometimes, we are in different seasons. We have to support our spouse during their times in the spotlight.

  • 348 - Better Than the Best You Could Imagine
    Jun 4 2024

Our imagination is limitless, yet we place restrictions on ourselves all the time. Often, we don’t even realize the ways in which we limit ourselves through the automatic reflexes we've developed over time. These subconscious habits can prevent us from reaching our full potential, and today, we're going to learn how to overcome them. Once we become aware of these self-imposed barriers, we then hold the responsibility to decide what to do with them. This awareness is the first step towards unlocking a life that is better than the best you could imagine.

Today’s episode is something that is on my heart. We have the power to open ourselves up, but we’ve been conditioned for these things to not feel right. We need to normalize things feeling good in our lives and once we open up, it can be better than the best you could ever imagine

    Show Notes:

[2:14] - We don’t even realize the ways in which we limit ourselves through automatic reflexes we’ve developed.

[4:40] - Listen to examples from coaching calls that show that you can have more than you ever imagined.

[6:38] - When we allow ourselves to open ourselves up to how good life can get, the limitations we put on ourselves no longer hinder us.

[7:47] - Once we are aware of the limitations we put on ourselves, we are responsible for deciding what to do with them.

[10:03] - This topic comes from the first quadrant: Mind Over Matter.

[11:28] - What would “better than the best you could imagine” look like?

[13:03] - If you were to harness the power of your imagination, what can “better than you can imagine” even be?

[14:36] - Stop looking outside of you for things that you think will make you happy.

[16:32] - How do we know if a goal is soul-aligned?

[18:09] - If it has been a long time since you’ve listened to yourself, the answer to these questions will be hard to find.

[19:37] - We need to normalize and stabilize things in our lives feeling good.

[22:44] - An affirmation: “It is safe and normal for me to be blissfully happy, peaceful, and stable.”

[25:53] - There are a lot of different strategies to normalize this idea. As good starts flowing in at a whole new level, we need to simply accept it.

[29:10] - If we haven’t made the right connections with money, when we are in the struggle, we will experience lack.

  • 347 - Best Networking and Sales Strategies for 2024 with Trevor Houston
    May 28 2024

I’m excited to bring you a new friend and a super connector today on the show who is going to talk about how to network, stand out from the crowd and build resilience in your career and finances whether you are in corporate or an entrepreneur.

I got introduced to Trevor recently by a mutual friend, Amberly Lago, who has been on the show before, and she said you have to meet Trevor and connect with him.

Trevor has built a huge media presence as the host of the “Who Ya Know Show”, and has interviewed people like Grant and Elena Cardone, Tim Story, Heather Monahan, who is a former client of mine and has also been a guest on this show, and more. Trevor is also the CEO of ClearPath Wealth Strategies and has been recognized as a top 50 entrepreneur to watch according to Grit Daily.

There’s a phrase that I have seen come true in my life over and over again, which is “grace opens doors that hard work never could.” I think about the biggest moments of my career and life, those moments where it felt like pure grace where something came together or an opportunity happened that I never could have dreamed of, and it was always based on pure grace - but that grace was often spawned by some sort of connection I had who helped me in ways I never could have accomplished with pure hard work.

So the power of connections, building your brand and resilience is critical whether you're in corporate America or an entrepreneur, and Trevor is going to help us dive deeper into those areas in this episode.

    Show Notes:

[3:13] - Trevor shares his background and what created his passion is helping others become more resilient.

[6:16] - He could see the same anxiety and stress he was going through in others. He felt led to give back and serve.

[8:02] - When we are seeking abundance, we’re really seeking freedom.

[9:14] - Trevor had to transform his life. His book focuses on how to make a transformation.

[10:35] - The first step is to make a decision. Some decisions are easy but some feel impossible.

[12:37] - Find a place to place your energy.

[15:27] - A victim mentality is a cancer. Accountability is crucial.

[16:54] - Reflect on what you can control. What can you do better?

[20:11] - You are the only one that can give yourself permission to change.

[24:34] - What do you already have that you can work with? Don’t look for what is missing.

    [26:18] - Relationships are everything.

[28:57] - Think about ways you can make someone else’s life better. The law of reciprocity means it will come back around to you.

[33:34] - Things happen for you, not to you.

[37:09] - Trevor shares the 7 C’s of cash flow.

[39:25] - How do we stand out in a saturated market?

[43:50] - Video comments and personalized content makes a huge difference.

[47:02] - Trevor shares his advice for overcoming rejection.

  • 346 - Cracking the Code to Six Figures and Beyond
    May 14 2024

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another episode of She Sells Radio, where we're diving deep into the nitty-gritty of breaking six figures and beyond. Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur or even in corporate sales, today’s content is always for you. Today, we're pulling back the curtain and cracking the code on what really matters (and what doesn't) when it comes to reaching that coveted six-figure milestone and beyond.

I'm thrilled to be flying solo for this episode, inspired by the countless women who've embarked on their entrepreneurial journey only to find themselves pivoting towards coaching and mentorship. We'll be delving into my own journey, including a peek behind the scenes at my own six-figure month and the strategies that made it happen. From building and scaling your business to creating time freedom that allows you to live life on your terms, I’ve got you covered.

Today, we are discussing strategy with a lot more to come in future conversations. And be sure to listen to the end so you can learn all the ways to take the next step for you and your business.

    Show Notes:

[2:37] - Would a Sales Tip of the Week be a helpful addition to the podcast?

[4:45] - Contact Elyse if you are interested in a coaching mentorship.

[8:30] - Sometimes we have experiences that make us realize how much we have.

[10:34] - We may realize how much we have to work and grind to provide for our family.

[12:19] - At one point in her life, it was not something Elyse could even imagine to receive money without having spent a ton of time earning it.

[13:45] - It is possible for you to create a business that works for you.

    [14:35] - Efficacy over effort.

[17:05] - It is profound to be able to be present, relaxed, and have trust and flow in the business whether you are working or not.

[19:44] - It’s about your belief system and its alignment with what you want.

[22:51] - We are programmed to earn our financial set point.

[25:09] - If you are experiencing massive limiting beliefs about something, you’re on the right track.

[26:47] - Do not compare what you are looking to do to what someone else is doing. They are on a different point in their journey.

[30:04] - Your energy can call other people up where your vibration aligns with their own.

    [31:56] - Do it before you’re ready.

[33:45] - If it doesn’t work right away, it might not have finished yet.

[36:01] - It doesn’t matter how much you’ve tried or invested. If you give your power away, it’s not going to happen.

[38:09] - We waste time doing things that are a shot in the dark, but there are other things that we can do that are lighted and guided.

[40:32] - If you are being called to do something, there are other people out there that need what you can provide.

[43:17] - Find a way to make this fit into your life.

[45:19] - You do not need perfection.

[46:56] - You do not need someone else’s permission.

[47:59] - Now what do you do?

[50:35] - What would it be like for you to have clarity and peace of mind?

  • 345 - Lead, Don’t Manage with Mark Williams
    Apr 23 2024

Whether you are a sales professional, a solopreneur or an established leader leading a team, one of the areas we all consistently need to grow in is leadership. We are all leading - first ourselves, then others whether that’s in the sales process or to join us in our companies. This is an area I’m always wanting to grow in myself, and I’m super excited to bring you a true expert on this topic to the show today.

Mark Williams is the President and CEO of Brokers International, one of the industry’s largest field marketing organizations — providing annuity and life insurance solutions to independent insurance and financial professionals across the nation.

Mark has a proven track record driving transformation, having helped transform companies such as Allianz, The Hartford, and GamePlan from the inside out.

Currently, Mark is focused on the future of the insurance industry: from the disruptions of InsurTech and robo-advisors to the changing demographics and needs of customers. He also is an avid mentor helping financial professionals navigate the industry.

Mark is the author of Lead, Don’t Manage: 12 Lessons in Creating a Leadership Culture Based on Core Values, which we dive into more in this conversation.

    Show Notes:

[2:59] - Whether you are in finance or not, the principles that Mark shares can apply to anyone.

[4:41] - In a society that glorifies hustle and burnt out, Mark explains what inspired him to change his mindset.

[6:20] - Give it all you’ve got, but you don’t have to work for every minute of the day.

[8:19] - Working hard does not mean you are working smart.

[10:09] - Prioritize what you are doing when you are doing it and make sure the tasks you are working on are important.

[12:06] - At the end of the day, results matter. But challenge your boss to do it your way and see what your results are.

[15:24] - Mark believes that clients and employees are different today than they have been in the past. They’re more open to authenticity.

[17:10] - Branding is important, but it’s not your logo. It is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.

[21:50] - LinkedIn seems like an audience that only wants business professionals. But people are interested in real people.

[23:18] - What is the difference between traditional leadership and transformational leadership?

[27:02] - As a leader, understanding the things that employees are going through is crucial.

[28:23] - Lots of good salespeople are not good managers. Be brutally honest with yourself.

[33:40] - There’s a balance that needs to be found in leadership. One of the toughest things to do in leadership is being a “bad guy.”

[36:02] - The conversations you are most fearful of might be some of the best conversations you’ll ever have.

[4:04] - One of the things that held me back for years was not feeling worthy of the level of income I desired.

[11:46] - Challenges or bumps on the road are always tied to the things we want. Are you willing to show up and do what it takes?

[14:21] - When you elevate, it is extended to the people in your life, too.

[20:25] - This just doesn’t just apply to your business results. How we do one thing is how we do everything.

[26:03] - On the outside, we may appear like we have it all together.

[34:11] - A quantum leap will happen when it feels natural to you. What is your set point?

[37:38] - Any strategy can work, but it's about your belief and the strategy’s alignment.

[40:30] - Why do most people never achieve their goals?

[42:24] - The world will only value you based on your own value of yourself.

[45:22] - If you don’t do the inner work to feel valid, worthy, and abundant before the money comes in, you won’t be able to hold it.

[49:04] - Listen to the symptoms of a worthiness wound.

[51:26] - We should be setting goals that force us to expand.

[53:23] - There are three core worthiness blocks.

[55:14] - Check and see where you are having difficulty or holding back from receiving.

[60:01] - We choose to do nothing when we think we aren’t worthy of something.

[63:00] - How does scarcity mindset play into self-worth?

[67:49] - What is your relationship with your breath?

[77:11] - Many people will not invest in themselves until they’ve reached a certain point financially.

[84:51] - What you want is right there. You have to go get it.
