At a very young age, my family went through an incredibly traumatic experience. Not understanding the implications of that as a young child, this influenced many negative decisions in my life, leading to self-sabotage. After 30 years of repeating the same pattern, I decided to speak about it and get help during this journey. I realised how powerful the mind is, and that communicating and talking is the first step of this ladder to success.

I'm Sean Davey. Welcome to Wholeful, where wholeness can be found in being grateful.

  • Brand Boss

My grandfather owned a trading store in a small village in Newcastle where he sold a variety of products. I have fond memories of being awakened by Coca-Cola and Albany bread trucks delivering their products. I was about 8 years old and I was already very brand conscious. I can still picture the captivating Mobil Gas advert featuring the red flying horse. I was drawn to that ad, and as I grew older I realised that my affinity for that brand and that of Coca-Cola was not coincidental. There was science to it. This piqued my curiosity leading me to pursue my in-depth study all the way to Masters level. Eventually, I founded my brand leadership company.

I am Bongi Bako. Welcome to Brand Boss, a podcast where we engage with conversations with esteemed brands and brand builders to help you build robust brands that will endure for the next 100 years.

  • Suwah Notes
    Aug 24 2023
I remember the first time I noticed that women get treated a little differently at work. I was six months pregnant and running out of breath to the office. Late, as usual. Visibly pregnant, I asked for a permission slip to park closer to the building. But I was told that I needed a handwritten note from my gynae. Awks, I know. But it was then that I knew that the person who I needed help from would never understand what it meant to compete at work while sleep-deprived and managing a household. Life can leave you on a sour note, you know, but it doesn't have to stay that way.
Welcome to Suwah Notes, the podcast that has uncomfortable conversations with working women about gender inequality; the go-to place to keep you empowered for any dinner conversation that matters.

  • The Laundromat with Dawn Pretorius

It was the Wolfsburg Questionnaire that did it.

The Wolfsburg Questionnaire is a list of some 150 questions sent by one bank to another on their initiatives to curb money laundering. Technically, it is supposed to reveal just how compliant the financial institution is that you're working for. But that is only one example of our global efforts to stamp out money laundering. The reality is that money laundering continues to grow exponentially and collusion, corruption, and confusion are only getting more sophisticated.

Welcome to The Laundromat, the podcast that talks to funding more or better initiatives to stamp out money laundering by applying good minds, young minds, controversial minds, and professional minds to this problem. You will be contributing to a more equal world where not only the rich are rich.

  • Rediscovered with Kelly Hoffman
    Jul 27 2023
She was eight years old, the phone rang. The news broke, so did she. Her idol, her everything, her father - just died. She watched her mom collapse from sheer shock. Overwhelmed by emotions far greater and bigger than her, she stepped outside. Not a tear. She didn't know how to feel, how to cope, and how to articulate. She didn't recognise this pain. That was the day she lost her voice.

And today is the day I choose to talk about it and use my story, the story of so many, to empower others with the tools and means to be more than just 'okay'.

Welcome to Rediscovered, the podcast that talks to existing authentically and a no-bullshit approach to survival to empower you to unapologetically thrive.

They say once a horse breathes on your soul, your life is changed forever.

I don't remember the first time a horse breathed on me, but I do remember the magic and the absolute conviction that something I could not live without. It is something I've been in pursuit of ever since. Monty Roberts famously said, "The horse will tell you" and I have found that grabbing mane and trusting the horse has led me to the most incredible people, places, and experiences of my life.

Welcome to the Louw Flyer, the podcast that talks to horse enthusiasts everywhere about the magic of the horse, so that you can also fall in love with the stories of our sport.

  • The Grand Café
    Jul 13 2023
I remember my grandmother taking me to town with her. We would have lunch together at a posh restaurant called the Grand Café. We would sit by the booth which had the most sun, so it was always warm. We chatted for long, laughed a lot, and she listened with love and great interest. I felt heard, seen, as well as nourished in that time. I've carried that warmth with me throughout my life and realize that the moments with our elders are like a wisdom blanket.

Welcome to the Grand Café, which talks to the elders of our communities about the best and most challenging times of their lives, so that we can build it into the sunshine of our future.

  • The Mantis Monolgues with Kerry Simpson
    Jul 13 2023
When I discovered writing and storytelling for the first time, I was around 10 years old when my mom brought out my gran's big old green typewriter. You know the one with those big, heavy, clanky keys that you really had to hammer down hard on? And I remember feeling excited and inspired to create stories. That led me to discovering the word 'processor' when I used to join my mom at her offices during school holidays. And there I would dream up love stories inspired by the Sweet Dreams novels that I would read as a teenager. Little did I know that then this would lead me into the storytelling space, but not for myself. For my clients.

My strategic public relations business, Mantis Communications, was born out of this love for words and the desire to share the stories of others that inspire, educate, and create change. In my many years of business and dealing with inspirational thought leaders, I've realized that the human-centred side of business is where the magic really lies.

Welcome to the Mantis monologues, a podcast that promises to give you life-changing insights from leading CEOs, authors, entrepreneurs, and motivational speakers so that you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself in order to build a better business.
