  • Bill Stevenson, Canada's Legendary Piano Player & Songwriter, Solo @ his Grand Piano
    May 25 2024
Bill is a well known jazz & blues pianist with a fabulous touch and a rich history... "... While still in his teens, he joined the band Earth Opera, originally based in Boston. Stevenson left the band in 1968, after the release of their first album. During Stevenson's time with Earth Opera, the band frequently opened for The Doors, being fellow recording artists on Elektra Records, as well as having Jac Holzman as producer.[1] After leaving Earth Opera, Stevenson returned to Ottawa, where he continued to play locally for a number of years. One of his associations was as an early member of Heaven's Radio,[2] considered to be one of the best bands to come out of Ottawa in the 1970s.[3] As of the mid-1970s, Stevenson relocated to Halifax, Nova Scotia, from which his career has been based since. During his career, Stevenson has worked with many notable artists, including John Lee Hooker, Amos Garrett[4] and Tom Rush. Stevenson is the 2008 winner of the East Coast Music Award for Jazz Album of The Year.[4] With Tom Easley and Geoff Arsenault, he is also a 2009 East Coast Music Award nominee for Blues Album of The Year.[5]... ...." - Wikipedia

His career spans over 25 years where he fronted Canadian progressive-pop outfit and EastWest/Warner Europe recording artists, MIR, touring four continents and producing 4 critically-acclaimed albums. He also was guitarist for Cutting Crew, during a portion of lead singer Nick Van Eede’s solo career during the late 1990’s. He has appeared on albums with Sting, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell and performed on stage with Australia’s Colin Hay of Men At Work, Paula Cole, and many others. He has composed and arranged for many orchestral charts for symphonies such as VSO, WSO and SNS across the country in their Pops series’.-------- Megan St. Rose - https://linktr.ee/meganstrose Songwriter, Radio host, Actress/Model, Megan surely lives a full life. You seen her hosting Radio ECMA, heard her on the radio “Hot Country Mornings 103.5” and now you’ll hear the songs she has written and released in recent years. A little bit country, a little bit pop.-------- Jon Mullane - www.JonMullane.com In an era where commercial radio play and chart success is dominated by major label artists, Jon’s success in this domain is a reflection of his ability to write songs that connect with listeners – songs that mirror the emotions of the human condition intertwined with timeless and inspirational themes, positive messages, and observations of modern culture. “Mullane’s songs have a mass appeal, not just in North America but globally…” – Bob Mersereau, Telegraph Journal
