  • Episode 53 - Inherited Unpredictability: Brown Time, Catastrophising, and Survival
    Mar 13 2026

In this episode, we respond to a student’s question about the difference between the universal Brown time and the Brown patient in the clinic, and we explore how the macro pattern of an era expresses itself in the micro struggles of an individual. We discuss how inherited survival knowledge is passed on as a kind of energetic memory, shaping tendencies such as unpredictability, catastrophizing, and a constant sense that something could go wrong even when life appears stable. From there, we move into the broader purpose of the survival instinct, explaining that it is built for longevity rather than happiness, and that imbalance in energy is what drives so much of the fear, selfishness, and confinement people experience. We also explain how Homeopathy supports this process constitutionally, not just through the totality of symptoms but through the miasmatic blueprint, helping the body take up the right energy so it can restore its own balance.

    1. Brown Time and the Brown Patient: we explore the difference between the universal Brown time and the individual Brown patient, explaining that the era represents the full macro pattern while the patient expresses only the part of that pattern needed for their own life stresses and struggles.
    2. Inherited Survival Memory: we discuss how large-scale historical and environmental events leave behind imprinted survival knowledge, and how later generations can then experience that inherited pattern as anxiety, catastrophizing, or a sense of unpredictability without consciously knowing why.
    3. Survival and Happiness Are Not the Same Thing: we explain that the survival instinct is built for longevity, not happiness, and that it will readily produce selfishness, fear, and confinement if those reactions seem more likely to keep a person physically safe.
    4. Energy, Balance, and Behaviour: we examine how pain, pathology, and behaviour all point to whether a person is in balance, and how factors such as happiness, sleep, and food affect energy levels and determine whether the survival instinct remains regulated or becomes excessive.
    5. How Homeopathy Works Constitutionally: we explain that constitutional Homeopathy provides a needed package of energy, but only if it matches both the symptom totality and the miasmatic blueprint, because the body itself must be able to take that energy on board and use it for healing.

  • Episode 52 - Reading the Field: How Language, Posture & Breath Reveal the Unspoken
    Nov 12 2025

In this episode, we explore how subtle cues in language, posture, and breath provide insight into the internal state of the person in front of us. We discuss how recognising what’s unspoken - or even unknown - can offer deep clarity in therapeutic work. We talk about working at the edge of awareness and how to sit with uncertainty, emotion, and impulse in a session without rushing to intervene. We also examine the parallels between childhood strategies and adult dysfunction, and how physical or behavioural habits often emerge from past protective mechanisms. The episode closes with a reflection on how to remain attuned and responsive while staying present in your own body.

    1. Trusting the Unsaid: we discuss how information that’s left out - words avoided, pauses held, or topics skipped - often signals something more revealing than the spoken content.
    2. Reading the Body: we explore how posture, movement, and tone of voice can point to defensive patterns, unmet needs, or forgotten memories.
    3. Breath as a Diagnostic Tool: we explain how breath patterns reflect physiological states and how practitioners can use this to regulate or support their clients in real time.
    4. Working with Edges: we outline how to identify moments when a client is hovering on the edge of a breakthrough or shutdown, and how to offer containment without forcing change.
    5. Holding Back to Move Forward: we reflect on the power of not intervening too quickly and how strategic silence or non-action can allow the deeper process to unfold.

  • Episode 51 - Freezing Time: What Stillness Means in Trauma and Recovery
    Oct 22 2025

In this episode, we explore the concept of pausing time to support the body’s natural healing rhythms, particularly in response to trauma, chronic symptoms, or overwhelm. We consider how stepping outside the usual pace of life—both metaphorically and physiologically—can create space for integration, resolution, and a return to clarity. Topics include the somatic language of stillness, the difference between collapse and rest, how “the pause” intersects with survival strategies, and the role of body-led timing in therapeutic or homeopathic interventions. Through real-world examples and lived experience, we reflect on what it means to pause intentionally, and how recognising the need for a “halt” can be a crucial part of navigating long-term healing.

    1. The Pause as a Survival Strategy: The conversation opens with a discussion on the body’s instinct to pause—biologically and emotionally—when overwhelmed. Grant reflects on personal experiences of needing to “stop time” and how this urge might signal more than exhaustion.
    2. Stillness, Safety, and Somatic Wisdom: Louise explains how stillness can be both a protective response and a healing tool. The pair discuss the difference between choosing stillness vs. being frozen, and how recognising that distinction helps guide therapeutic direction.
    3. When Forward Momentum Feels Unsafe: we dive into the tension between survival-based drive (pushing forward) and the body’s deeper need to stop. They unpack how urgency, restlessness, or guilt often arise when the body attempts to hit pause.
    4. Reframing Healing Timelines: we explore how healing often happens outside of linear time. They challenge the notion that pausing means “not progressing” and instead propose that stepping out of forward movement can itself be profound progress.
    5. Navigating the Discomfort of Slowing Down: we conclude with a discussion of why stopping can feel intolerable, how modern life conditions us to equate stillness with failure, and the importance of cultivating a deeper trust in body-led timing.
