  • Ep. 17 - The Grieving Process
    Sep 27 2022

When a child takes their own life, parents can feel a range of emotions…grief, guilt, anger, etc, but they deal with their loss very differently. Men usually remain stoic and women express themselves emotionally through tears and lashing out. Chad Viliborghi, a former Chandler Police Officer, joins Melinda to talk about his son Kieran, who took his life at age 13, and how their family has coped over the years. Melinda plays a role in their healing and connection to Kieran from the other side of the Vail. If you are struggling and need some clarity, this episode is a must-listen.

  • Ep. 13 - What is The Brandon Act?
    Aug 30 2022

In 2021, military suicides were the highest they have been since World War II, many times brought on by persistent hazing, bullying and sexual assault, sometimes by senior officers. Patrick and Teri Caserta, parents of Brandon Caserta who took his life in 2018, join Melinda to share his story and why The Brandon Act is so important. This bill will allow Americans serving in uniform to seek help confidentially and require a mental health evaluation as soon as the service member self-reports. Thank you to Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) and Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) for working tirelessly to get this legislation passed. This bill will not bring Brandon back, but it is an important piece of his legacy that will save countless American lives.

  • Ep. 12 - Valley Legend, Pat McMahon Part 2
    Aug 23 2022

Pat has had the opportunity over the years to interview some amazing people, from JFK to Mohammed Ali to Mother Teresa. In this episode of “Spirituality for Everyday Living” he shares some real gems that will delight you and others that may shock you. JFK was very handsome, witty and clever and in fact shares some similarities to Donald Trump…wealth, womanizing and narcissism. Texas Gov. John Connally was with JFK when he was assassinated in Dallas and told Pat there was definitely a second shooter on the Grassy Knoll but denied he ever said that 5 years later. If you’re intrigued, you don’t want to miss the rest of the conversation, which includes Sen. Barry Goldwater and UFO’s!
