    Aug 28 2024
Your daily kids news podcast. Move over, Paw Patrol! There's a new team of heroes in the Pacific! Australia's Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, has joined forces with leaders from Pacific Island nations to create a special police force to help across the region. In South Africa, wasps are being flown in by drones to save grapevines from pesky mealy bugs. This eco-friendly solution helps protect the grapes without using harmful sprays. Get ready for a cuteness overload! A baby gorilla was just born at the Detroit Zoo, and she’s already a superstar! With big eyes and tiny hands, this little one is making everyone say “aww.” The zoo is asking for name suggestions, so get your thinking caps on! Scammers are using the names and photos of Aussie stars like soccer champ Sam Kerr in sneaky online scams. They want to trick people into giving away their money. Remember, always STOP, THINK, and CHECK before you believe what you see online! For the full episode transcript, click here. • Cow burps to save the Earth; England’s gravy wrestling champion; giant scorpions ruled the seas; and a skydiving centenarian.
    Aug 27 2024
Your daily kids news podcast. Scientists have found a cool way to use cows to help fight global warming! Cows usually release a lot of methane gas when they burp or fart. Now, scientists are working on a pill for cows to take, which will make their burps more environmentally friendly. In England, people dressed as superheroes and even a fluffy dalmatian wrestled in a pool of gravy for the World Gravy Wrestling Championships! It was a messy, hilarious, and delicious event, leaving everyone wondering what happened to all that gravy! In Australia, a scientist discovered fossils of giant, crocodile-sized sea scorpions that ruled the oceans over 400 million years ago. These ancient creatures were like underwater tanks, using their huge claws to snatch up prey. Who knew the past could be so creepy and cool? Manette Baillie celebrated her 102nd birthday by becoming Britain's oldest skydiver, proving it's never too late for adventure! Meanwhile, John Tinniswood, the world's oldest living man at 112, enjoys a simpler life but has no secrets for living so long. Age is just a number for these incredible individuals! An origami bow tie. For the full episode transcript, click here.
