  • Headlines: The Cat, the Box, and Reality
    Mar 11 2026

Tim and Mary unpack some last days realities that sound more and more surreal. Take for instance the merry-go-round that is the Middle East, at least when it comes to Iran and current headlines. Now that Iran has played their turn and installed a familial leader (which the 1970s Ayatollah KHO-meini decried before his death), Trump is certainly having to deal with a chess move he hates. After all, why would he go through all this trouble only to have to go in circles and start again with another hardliner? It will be interesting to see Trump’s next move. Meanwhile, no one has seen or heard from the heir apparent yet, so is he dead, alive, or just MIA? Reminds one of Schrodinger’s poor old kitty, an analogy afforded us by none other than Jeff Childers of his Coffee and Covid blog. We also look at Israel, Monsanto, and some terror-related news that proves this is, and has always been, a wider war, a charge which legacy media has reserved for later, but it’s too late for that analogy. Ask Israel about this.

  • Mary Danielsen: Catholicism – A Cross Examination
    Mar 10 2026

    Mary Danielsen

Mary takes on some of the questions she has personally had, and has received, about the Roman Catholic church over the course of many years. The number one question? “Are there true believers in the Catholic church?” That’s how we open this podcast and then take some of the main concerns people have and shine the light of truth on it, from the bible of course. If we have any other plumb line, we will be skewed in every spiritual category. When it comes to the vast numbers that adhere to this belief system, it is impossible to know or measure what each Catholic believes since it’s never been a one-size-fits-all religion; not just from diocese to diocese, but in the syncretistic way it is adapted to any culture around the world. But one thing we can know, is how does it measure up to sound doctrine? Today we put our thinking caps on and dive into the main themes. If someone claims to be born again, and doesn’t know the Word enough to see the false teaching they are submitting to in Catholicism, we have to wonder not just what their motivation is, but the motivation of the person who asks, “are their born again Catholics in that church?” Some straight shooting in this edition of SUFTT.

  • Replay – Avery Foley: Parenting on Purpose
    Mar 9 2026

[Original airdate: 4/9/25] Mary welcomes Avery Foley from Answers in Genesis to talk about parenting in these times. With so many parenting styles over the decades, and home-school curricula, parents need to be not just intentional but also measure everything by the Word. We talk about the big issues of the day – are children mature enough to understand them? There was a time not only did these cultural issues remain hidden from children’s eyes, but the children were also allowed to fully experience childhood free from the knowledge of sexual and political understanding in a way far beyond their years. We talk about discernment in curricula; and helping kids make good choices in behavior and self discipline. Telling them what they did wrong, but also helping them choose better next time is critical to driving home the need for good character and responding biblically. She and her husband Trevor produce great children’s content in the form of educational and entertaining videos. They can be found here at Answers TV.

  • Alex Newman: Creatures Under the Bed, Bad Stuff in the Basement
    Mar 6 2026

When I was a kid, and I had to go down to the basement to fetch something for my mom, I hated opening that door. And once the errand was accomplished, I would run up the steps like the devil himself was after me. There was something about the dark and unknown that my naive little heart wanted nothing to do with. Today, the notion of gatekeepers and hall monitors for the deep state has that same effect on me. I don’t even want to open the door. But in an important conversation today with Alex Newman, we talk about one of the poster boys for basement level boogeymen: Jeffrey Epstein. He didn’t own a country or a title, wasn’t a Caesar, Kaiser or Tzar. And yet his influence is massive and we have to ask why. The answers may shock you. Why is the nation so obsessed with Epstein? We also talk about bad actors in public schooling and in climate agendas. A Deep State dive today on SUFTT.

  • Melissa Huray: My Chains Fell Off, My Heart Set Free
    Mar 5 2026

Mary welcomes Melissa Huray to the podcast to talk about true freedom in Christ. Melissa has dedicated the last 15 years to helping people with addictions find freedom through Jesus Christ. She is an Emmy award winning news reporter and anchor, and an addiction counselor with a Masters in Physiology. She is the Executive Director at the Lindell Recovery Network. Her books include Blackout to Blessing and Radical Freedom. She also hosts the Hope Report podcast. Today we look at her testimony of a dysfunctional family and the emptiness she felt as a youth. The deadly cost of gambling on alcohol’s temporary relief brought multiple arrests, harrowing car crashes, and many attempts to quit. She couldn’t save herself – but ultimately put her trust in the One who could set her free from all the pain. God has used her mightily and we talk about a God Who uses our darkest seasons to bring light to others.

  • Headlines: Lighter Fluid
    Mar 4 2026

Have we just entered into a season that is one of the most unpredictable since the Shah was overthrown in 1979? Even with the strength that President Reagan showed in releasing the American hostages from Iran’s volatile and brutal grip back then, perhaps President Trump has shown the most courage and resolve we have seen in decades with his Operation Fury to take out the wicked Ayatollah “Haman” Khameini. While some of the leftier among us are crying outrage just because it’s Trump, most citizens of the globe recognize the fact that the world, and the Mideast in particular, need LESS Khameinis, not more – or even one – and clearly Trump agrees. Siding with a tyrannical Islamic regime that kills its own is a form of insanity that no one can defend from a human standpoint. At any rate, God is working, because if it is as late as we think it is, it’s all part of Bible prophecy. Back in the 70s, for less than one dollar, one could purchase a Bic lighter and set stuff on fire easily. In today’s Mideast, with hatred all around stewing and brewing, especially for Israel, it doesn’t take much more than one of those to invoke a regional war. Tim and Mary invite you to be watching and waiting with them on our weekly Headline Days.

  • JB Hixson: Surrendered, Set Apart, Sanctified
    Mar 3 2026

    Dr. JB Hixson

Mary welcomes back JB Hixson to explore a Bible topic that is both personal and practical: surrendering fully to Jesus. In John 3:29-30, we read, He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. John was said by Jesus to be the greatest among those born of women, but the least in the kingdom. Now that is a conundrum and yet we understand the unique position John was in for all of history, and that he never saw the crucifixion or resurrection. So let’s get practical: what does that mean to decrease and give Jesus preeminence in our lives? What does this look like as the ultimate ministry model? How is the church doing on that front when we consider all the glory some ministries take for themselves? A timely hour with JB.

  • Dave Wager: Four Old Lessons
    Mar 2 2026

Today’s new episode of Stand Up For The Truth features Dave Wager teaching solo, walking listeners through what he calls “four old lessons” from the book of Job, anchored by 1 Peter 5:8, the warning to stay alert because the devil prowls like a roaring lion. Dave frames the whole conversation around “principles” versus opinions, perspectives, or methods. Principles do not change, regardless of feelings or culture, and Job’s story is used as a clear example. He starts with Job 1, highlighting Job’s integrity and unusual blessing, then pulls back the curtain to Job 1:6 and the heavenly scene where God points to Job as blameless and upright, showing that what heaven calls “great” is character, not comfort.

From there, Dave lays out the four lessons: (1) there is an active spiritual battle, (2) the fight centers on people, our allegiance and trust in God, (3) the crowd, even close friends, cannot define truth, and (4) believers must keep growing through humility and repentance. Along the way he illustrates spiritual attack with a vivid story about a cat tormenting a chipmunk, and he warns that deception often feels like “light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Job’s response to loss becomes a model for suffering with worship and steady truth (Job 1:21), and God’s questioning in Job 38 becomes a reminder to focus on what we know about God when we cannot explain what we are living through. Dave closes by re-centering “blessing” as being used by God to represent Him, not simply having ease, and points listeners to God’s higher ways (Isaiah 55:8–9) and His proven Word as refuge (Psalm 18:30).
