The foundation of our world is rocks. They come in many different sizes, shapes, colors and textures. In 1979 it started then 2 years later a migration to Frederick County occurred and a small piece of land was purchased with a dream of growing a vineyard and creating one of the best wines that your palette could enjoy. The Steeples and Peoples podcast visits Elk Run Vineyards and talks with majority owner, Fred Wilson. Fred shares with us what led him to the Mount Airy location, how his passion became a reality and the growth they have had since their humble beginnings in the early ‘80’s. Joann shares with us the history of the farm along with its transformation over the years. As winter sets upon in the next month, Frederick has annual traditions that keep spirits high, when it is dark at 5 pm and cold. We were fortunate enough to connect with one of the key people behind the Boats on the canal or Sailing through the Winter Solstice. The Steeples and Peoples podcast sat down with Peter Kremers,who has played an intricate role in the growth and production of this Frederick original. Peter talks about his role in the organization and what else they do besides the boats. He shares with us when the boats will be launched, how charity is the main goal for this non-profit and how they have continued to grow since their inception in 2016.
