  • Soldier, Athlete, Farmer The Rewards of Discipleship
    Mar 1 2026

This sermon explores the multifaceted nature of discipleship through the powerful metaphors of a soldier, an athlete, and a farmer. Each of these roles represents a unique aspect of the commitment and perseverance required to live a life of faith, as well as the rewards that come with such a dedication.

The sermon begins by examining the life of a soldier, highlighting the discipline, obedience, and unwavering focus required to serve a higher cause. Just as a soldier endures hardship and remains loyal to their mission, a disciple is called to stand firm in their beliefs and fight the spiritual battles that come their way. This path is not always easy, but it is one of honor and purpose.

Next, the sermon turns to the image of an athlete, emphasizing the importance of training, self-control, and the pursuit of excellence. An athlete's journey is one of constant improvement, pushing past limitations to achieve a goal. Similarly, a disciple must be diligent in their spiritual practices, striving to grow in their faith and character. The reward is not just the prize at the end, but the strength and resilience gained along the way.

Finally, the sermon concludes with the metaphor of a farmer, who patiently cultivates the land, sows seeds, and trusts in the harvest. This illustrates the necessity of faith, patience, and hard work in the life of a believer. The farmer's reward is the fruit of their labor, a bountiful harvest that comes in due season. In the same way, a disciple who faithfully plants seeds of kindness, love, and truth will reap a harvest of righteousness and eternal rewards.

Through these three compelling images, the sermon paints a vivid picture of what it means to be a true disciple. It is a call to live with courage, discipline, and unwavering faith, trusting that the rewards of a life dedicated to a higher purpose are immeasurable.

  • S02E28 - God’s Indwelling Glory and the Enduring Covenants with Man - Exodus 35, 36, 37, 38, 39 & 40
    Feb 22 2026

Discover the ultimate and final secrets revealed to us by the holy text itself. This finale to a deeper Bible Study will teach all believers some very insightful ideas not just about the scriptures themselves and our past relationship as his people through all time, but the meaning behind so many things even those things in a way that’ll prepare us all for Christ’s final ascension and the kingdom he and his father plan for the world after Armageddon. After a more general examination of all the prior studies in this series, Pastor Stephen unveils with both humor, and sincerity, through many different holy texts, that through God’s divine light there is a larger connection between all of mankind in ways one cannot fully appreciate on a surface level view. All the symbols and tools God showed the early man have one very strong common through-line: his children are meant for greatness not only with his final arrival and judgement upon this sinful world but more deeply as it relates to what they must endure while suffering its corrupting influence through patience in the faith of your personal relationship with our merciful God and a fuller and truer communion with all those God made as equal as you.

In this sermon, you will learn:

    • What the True Final Secret Message of the Exodus Reveals: By completing a full overview and examination of Exodus, learn what God intended for not only Moses, and those people chosen to lead for his ultimate designs, but a lesson that through faith in Jesus any follower, young or old, is welcome to embrace the calling of the Lord.

    • The Truth About A Will Truly Free: Go beyond simple definitions and into a philosophical argument for what a life can be free from sinful choices through what may seem contradictory; letting a man who gave his only son for the freedom from our sinful natures, control, guide, and protect one’s will through faith in his words, to do and to be what He designed you for.

    • The Meaning Behind a Thousand Years in One Sentence: Why The Glory of The Tabernacle Faded: With its construction complete, its place of prominence well defined, and its holiness anointed and purified, why this Holy Place could not remain as a place for his followers to go to, when the Lord promised he and his holy presence would protect Israel always.

The greatest gift any teacher of the bible may grant its listener isn’t one’s deeper wisdom from an innate sense of one’s closeness to the word and will of the father. It is in fact quite the opposite and as Pastor Stephen closes this very special examination and celebration of a Book which means more to its followers in a way few other pieces of art in the annals of man has, come understand why for those called to it the purpose is to reveal to us who they are so we too can become the true teachers and followers of our merciful God, our savior Jesus Christ, and to our brethren, our spiritual community. That you too can shine your heavenly light of a faith true for any to find salvation through, just as it’s foretold.

  • S02E27 - Sins of The Father: Why God and Jesus Work in Mysterious and Miraculous Ways - Exodus 33:1-23; 34:1-35
    Feb 15 2026

Go beyond just reading the scripture and fully immerse yourself in its deep knowledge and mystery as Pastor Stephen continues his illuminating Bible study with an important look at some of the Old and New Testaments' deeper teachings about Jesus and how our father shows up to not only lead and help his believers, but at times discipline and chastise as a way to remind them that no man or any other force in the universe has the power to withstand and survive the holy father of creation. You’ll begin to unravel a much fuller view of what it is God wishes you to become by becoming one of his flock, while understanding that for a reason he never allowed any one mortal prophet or messianic individual have too many gifts that they in turn become god-like and through their sinful pride begin a new and different ministry, one where they become the centerpiece of the very worship they teach to their faithful adherents. This sermon will show you that our gifts in this world can be given and just as easily taken away as the Lord sees fit through his divine knowledge of our true hearts.

In this sermon, you will learn:

    • God the Father's Compassion: Discover how one man’s selfless appeal can persuade the judgment of an almighty, all-seeing god; to change a catastrophic fate into a less mercifully cruel but at the same time justly delivered rebuke, and a stern message to both sinners and followers to believe.

    • The Book of Life and The Forgiveness of All Sin: Witness a deeper knowledge of not only who God can forgive of sin, but in what unique ways he has and through what rituals these ceremonies of both confession and sanctification may be obtained as followers of Jesus and through his father's love of the entirety of humanity.

    • The Unseen Father: What if God were in human form? This is explored throughout this clip where Pastor Stephen teaches that in fact this is an unnecessary consideration; not because he doesn’t have this power or more but simply as the father being “all things” means to give him or “it” a name that even encompasses God in a single word is to diminish his divinity into the same idolatrous place-setting of old.

With so many deeper insights into the many gifts that the Lord brings with all his followers' baptism and through his loving grace he is ready to always be both the teacher of those wanting to truly know his works while at the same time never becoming complacent enough to see that God, like his most faithful of children are all at work together. Just remember, as much as he’d give you an opportunity to become one with all His knowledge and work with the powers and responsibilities He chooses for you to share, he too can, through your actions, show you just as easily that no mortal can escape his eternal judgments for long when one ignores His father’s love.

  • S02E26 - The Tablets of Temperament: How Sin Tries Us, but Our Relationship with God can Withstand anything - Exodus 32:7-28
    Feb 8 2026

Delve into the Old Testament scriptures with Pastor Stephen in another thrilling chapter-by-chapter examination of Exodus. Follow along as Pastor Stephen unveils another important lesson on the relationship between God’s grace and his ability to see that mankind will make mistakes when in dire straits. Discover why a holy and anointed ritual of purifying the holiest temple to God on Earth had a far more important secondary effect. How these sacred oils and incense weren't simply symbols of the Old Covenant, but also precursors to the blessings Christ bestows on his followers through the baptism and sanctifying of the believer to perform God's work.

    In this sermon, you'll learn:

      • How this consecrating ceremony to make the tabernacle fit to be occupied by the “Shekinah Glory” of God, not only established the temple for what it was meant to be, but for those that performed its cleansing rites, they themselves would begin to start a new understanding of not only what God truly represented as an All-Seeing presence, but what a priest's job in his earthly temple would represent.

      • The differences and subtle changes in all previous, and especially ancient versions of, God’s dispensations and their accompanying sacraments to man in order for them to fulfill his work on Earth.

      • You’ll discover how one’s devotion to one's flesh leads down a dark road into sin through idolatry of the very evil being the son of God and his many messengers have warned against, and yet in some miraculous and still fully human ways those sinners can always repent their actions through a true relationship with God as your redeemer of that sin in a confession with Christ.

This sermon isn’t just for your biblical entertainment or enlightenment, it will encourage you to also think of ways in your everyday life where you can practice what Pastor Todd shows you. Be ready for that opportunity. For if the Bible has one simple truth in the end: There’s nothing greater a man can do, then to give his full life in all of its works in service to a merciful God who through his love for all His children would have his son suffer the worst imaginable torments for those who truly believe.

  • S02E25 - "Just A Bite: The Peril of Fleshly Desires" - Exodus 30:22-38; 31:1-18; 32:1-6
    Jan 25 2026

Discover the dangerous interplay of sin, freedom, and divine judgment as Stephen continues his exploration of the Book of Exodus and begins unpacking the infamous "Golden Calf Incident" and its direct comparisons to God’s previous covenants with man as described in both the Book of Daniel and Genesis.

This in-depth lesson not only reveals the spiritual meaning behind the consecration of priests but also exposes the subtle yet catastrophic errors in leadership that contributed to a tragic downfall of those who could have inherited their Godly given right as a chosen people in their journey to freedom and the final establishment of their permanent promised land of Israel.

      • Idolatry of a Cow: Through unpacking how ancient Jewish and Christian practices in worship have changed over time with our evolving relationship with God.

      • The Sinful Substitution of Man: One man leads while God speaks through another; without one you cannot have the other and so it becomes necessary to look further at the different means by which man has created a connection with God without a chosen messenger to represent His voice in all things.

      • The Serpent of Old in Modern Day Form: A new interpretation of an ancient covenant is exposed with the same tragic result through our humanly imperfect natures when left on their own and under stress from the enemy.

The same desires that pulled down a wandering nation in the desert are not new to our fallen world and by seeing the bigger picture through the words of God you can finally see how we can fight that internal war between "Good and Evil" and instead embrace and hold close all of that which we love most, and not have the worry that we too are wandering in a metaphorical desert.

  • S02E24 - Tabernacle Part III - Exodus 29:1-46; 30:1-21
    Jan 11 2026
Discover the beautiful, multifaceted typology of Jesus in the Old Testament Tabernacle. Picking up from his previous discussions of the Tabernacle's general structure and its specific features like the Alter, Ark of the Covenant, Lampstand, etc, Pastor Todd digs even deeper, in a journey of exploration through the symbols found within this holy text, and to have a richer understanding of what Christ means to his followers. This in-depth Bible study goes beyond simple explanation into a deep-dive exploration, where the lessons given thousands of years ago in Exodus apply more strongly now to followers of Christ than they have at any time in history. Unravel these concepts and gain a clearer vision of not only your identity in Christ but also your divine purpose.Atonement and Sacrifice: The Priestly Consecration: Walk through the detailed, seven-day ceremony where Aaron and his sons are consecrated as priests. Understand why a sin offering (the bull) is followed by two distinct wave offerings (the rams) and how these sacred acts represent Christ's once-and-for-all sacrifice and the priesthood of all believers.Dressed in Righteousness: Go beyond the basics to uncover the symbolism embedded in the High Priest's intricate garments. Explore how this clothing, designed "for glory and for beauty," also reveals deep truths about spiritual protection, the covering of our sin, and how we "put on Christ."Ringing in the Glory: Delve into the fascinating purpose of the bells sewn onto the High Priest’s robe, revealing a vivid picture of accountability and reverence as the priest stands before God on behalf of the entire nation on the Day of Atonement. The Urim and Thummim: Deciphering Divine Will: Explore one of the Old Testament's great mysteries – the Urim and Thummim. Uncover how these tools allowed the High Priest to receive direct answers from God and consider why such methods are no longer needed, thanks to the complete and perfect guidance of Christ's Word and the Holy Spirit in us.The Cross of the Covenant: Prepare to be amazed as a unique visual pattern emerges: see how the precise layout of the Tabernacle's seven pieces of furniture, when mapped out, form the undeniable shape of a cross. Each furnishing along this divinely architected cruciform powerfully testifies to an aspect of Jesus Christ—His sacrifice, sanctification, and eternal life-giving work. This is not a sermon to be missed and will inspire you to embrace your consecrated role and deepen your resolve to "run with endurance the race that is before us" while living up to the identity you have in Christ. You will also learn that what is a historical story for some, and a deep metaphoric expression of faith and belief for others, that in the modern world through the lessons taught through the son of God and his holy work, you yourself can learn how to be one of God’s priests today.Notes: https://media.versebyverseministry.org/images/uploads/exodus_29-30.pdfHandout: https://media.versebyverseministry.org/images/uploads/exodus_29-30_slides.pdfSlides: https://media.versebyverseministry.org/images/uploads/exodus_29-30_slides_%28no_background%29.pdfWeb: https://versebyverseministry.org/lessons/exodus_lesson_29_30This is a Sermon delivered by Pastor Stephen Armstrong, Check out the website for more resources: https://versebyverseministry.org/Follow or Subscribe to not miss a study.**Note: All the episodes this podcast will host are already recorded and available on the website.
