Qiaoyi loves watching movies, and every weekend, she saves up money to catch a film. Her dream is to become an actress, but fate has destined her to be an ordinary factory worker. Living with her grandmother, her parents passed away in a car accident years ago. Watching movies brings her immense joy, especially the touching love stories of the male and female leads.

In reality, Qiaoyi longs for love, but so far, no boy has shown interest in her. She yearns for love at first sight, dreaming of her own prince charming. Hoping for a romantic encounter, she frequents the movie theater, wearing her imitation pink umbrella skirt - a luxury she can't truly afford.

As time passes without any magical moments, Qiaoyi's luck suddenly changes one weekend. A boy stares at her as she enters the cinema, complimenting her skirt. His name is Carter, and he suggests they watch the movie together. Qiaoyi's heart races as she senses his interest. Inside the cinema, they share snacks and enjoy the film, but Qiaoyi can't focus – she steals glances at Carter, her dream prince.

During the movie, Carter holds Qiaoyi's hand, creating a warm connection. However, he later releases it, leaving Qiaoyi slightly disappointed. As the film concludes, Carter invites her to return the next weekend for another movie and a big surprise.

Excited, Qiaoyi eagerly anticipates the next weekend. Wearing her pink umbrella skirt, she meets Carter at the cinema, only to be surprised and disheartened to see him with a beautiful girl, also in a pink skirt. Feeling insulted, she runs away, assuming Carter's surprise was a mockery of her imitation skirt.

Carter chases after her, explaining that the girl is his sister who brought a genuine pink umbrella skirt as the surprise. Overcoming her initial anger, Qiaoyi accepts the authentic skirt from Carter, realizing it was a sincere gesture. In the end, Qiaoyi boldly hugs Carter, grateful for the unexpected turn of events.
