  • Tip #3 for Helping You Stick to Your Goals

    Today, we are talking about Tip #3 for helping you stick to your goals, which is: It’s Who You Become in the Process.

    The person you woke up as today may not be the same person you wake up as tomorrow - or the day after that - or next week - or ten years from now.

    While it’s impossible to predict exactly who you’ll be in the future, it’s a safe bet that you will not be the exact same person.

    Life is a process of constant change and transformation. Each day we learn more about ourselves, which results in greater clarity of our true desires. The path between where we are and where we want to be becomes more clear and focused, creating a deep and focused desire to see the process through.

    Setting goals - and the work involved with achieving them - is not so much about the end result, as much as a deep, and often indefinable, desire to fulfill our greatest potential. To grow - to expand - to become all that we can be.

    The person you end up becoming by the end of a journey (the process of goal setting and achieving is most definitely a journey!) is not the same person who started the journey. Achieving goals teaches you that you had what it took to achieve something you maybe weren’t sure you could, in the beginning.

    The process teaches you that you had more than you thought: more guts, more stamina, more determination, more commitment, more skill. The process shifts your perceptions, increases your self-esteem, confidence, and uplevels your mindset - all of which changes how you feel about the ‘work.’

    Today, we are talking about Tip #2 for helping you stick to your goals, which is: The Have-To’s Sometimes Turn into the Want-To’s.

    The work involved with achieving goals can feel like a “have-to” in the beginning, but they often turn into a “want-to” by the end of the process. They become a positive habit - a healthy way of being - while the work part eventually melts away.

    This happens because it’s not always about the end result - it’s about the person you become as a result of the process.

    When you learn a new way of living - a way of living that better represents and supports your true potential - things that used to be a “have-to” transform into a “want-to.”

    Today, we are talking about Tip #1 for helping you stick to your goals, which is to Focus on the Reward - Not the Work.

    Wise sages advise us to “be in the moment,” but let’s face it - you don’t always feel like running that last mile. You’re human; sometimes you lose your motivation in the middle of having to “do the work.”

    If you’re losing your motivation, switch your focus on the reward. Focus on the good feelings of having accomplished your goal and how much easier it will be the next time because you will have broken through another limiting belief.

  • Top Routine #5 of Highly Successful Entrepreneurs

    Today we are talking about top routine #5 of highly successful entrepreneurs, which is to Rest after Tasks are Completed.

    It is one thing to have tasks to complete. It is another when you can take a break after these tasks are completed. Successful entrepreneurs understand the benefits of resting after tasks are completed.

    They understand that the brain needs to rest, refuel, and recharge. There is also the satisfaction and motivation of completing tasks efficiently and successfully.

    If you are challenged and often feel overwhelmed by all the work you have to do, set a small reward at the end of each completed task or every 90 minutes. This can help increase focus knowing that you get a break. The break can be meditation, a short walk around the building, a power nap, or whatever will give your brain a quick rest to rejuvenate.

    Today we are talking about top routine #3 of highly successful entrepreneurs, which is Challenging Tasks are Handled First.

    Successful entrepreneurs typically handle more challenging tasks first. Unlike most business professionals who procrastinate on the important tasks and handle all the easy tasks first, high achievers understand the benefits of handling challenging tasks first.

    Most people start the day with smaller tasks such as emails, messages, memos, easy client service tasks, etc. However, the mornings are when the brain is at its peak for most people. Wo, when they decide to handle the more challenging tasks, the brain is working at a less optimal rate which easily causes exhaustion and lesser quality results.

    Handle your challenging tasks when your brain is working at its peak. By doing this, you can formulate better plans, make better decisions, solve complex problems, and generate creative ideas to set your business on its path to even greater success.

    Brian Tracy wrote a book called Eat That Frog. “Eat that frog!” basically means to start your day with the biggest, most important, and most dreaded task. It's also the task you are most likely to procrastinate on. Brian Tracy is also about disciplining yourself to eat that frog first thing in the morning every single day.
