NZ North Island Championship 2024 is an official World Cube Association (WCA) sanctioned speedcubing competition.

Speedcubing is a competitive sport involving solving a range of twisty puzzles, such as the famous Rubik's Cube, as quickly as possible.

The North Island Championships are being held in Taupo at the 'Great Lake Centre' between 20-21 July.

The Franklin Bulls are through the NBL basketball semi-finals after belting the Wellington Saints 104-67 in the capital.

They'll take on the Auckland Tuatara next Wednesday at Eventfinda Stadium

Meanwhile the Canterbury Rams take on the Taranaki Airs in the first Semi-Final on Sunday afternoon.

Central Pulse netball coach Anna Andrews-Tasola is determined to repay fans' support by earning hosting rights for the ANZ Premiership grand final.

The Pulse and Tactix meet in the final regular season match in Wellington on Monday, both coming off surprises losses last weekend.

Tasola predicts a spicy encounter, saying grand final hosting rights is important for the team, supporters and their community.
