    Feb 5 2022

Join Kembe X as he delivers gem after gem about mental health, what it's like to be an independent artist, working with Ab-Soul, being good friends with Isaiah Rashad, existing in the Top Dawg orbit, and why his personality doesn't always translate comfortably to social media

His most recent album "I Was Depressed Until I Made This" was a huge source of inspiration for this interview, which was actually first conducted back in May 2021, because I was struck down by an epic depressive episode. It's now February 2022 and I am only now uploading this interview, because I was far too unwell to put the finishing touches on it

Throughout my own depressive episode it was Kembe's words and music that helped me and gave me a sense of belonging and understanding. I really hope he can do the same for you too.

  • La Lion
    Jun 21 2021

In Episode 4 of The Beauty of Independence I chat with LaLion - The King of Consistency. From his early days in the Seattle Rock scene, his decision to pursue hip hop alone, and his grind to surpass 20 million Spotify streams & over 200,000 monthly listeners, LaLion's dedication is absolutely immense. His content is just as powerful, and this story of independence is invigorating and motivational.
