It might not have been pretty - but Bolton Wanderers beat Crawley with a brand new gameplan which lifts them into mid-table ahead of Tuesday's trip to Northampton Town.

Kyle Dempsey and John McAtee scored the goals in a gritty win, which was most un-Ian Evatt like.

But after conversations with the Bolton board, he has been given time to turn around the poor early season form which has landed the Whites in the relegation zone.

The uncertainty has not stopped there, however, and though the manager is staying put for the time being, coach Matt Craddock will be leaving the club. Strong rumours about a change in captaincy have also circled the club and debate bout Bolton’s style of play is now the fiercest it has ever been.
