Way back in 2022, it was reported the privileged black male Jerrod Jones announced he was filing suit against the Rochester Fire Department for Racist conduct. Specifically, Jones charged that his White supervisor ordered him to attend a "mock" Juneteenth party with mostly White people. Buckets of fried chicken decorated the events and members of the Democratic party were cruelly mimicked. 2 years later, Jones received $75,000 in compensation now, and will get another $75,000 in 4 years upon his retirement. He'll be on paid lead from the Rochester Fire Department until his retirement four years from now. That's the best news I've ever heard regarding a black person attending a "juneteenth" jamboree. We also discuss the cofounder of Movie Pass, Stacy Spikes. This privileged black male was forced to resign from the company he started and replaced by a pair of White dudes who bankrupted the company and are each facing charges of securities fraud and wire fraud.     The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 5th study session on Kenneth Wooden's The Children of Jonestown. Wooden was a journalist at the time of the Guyana genocide and wrote extensively about the mass murder during 1978 and 1979. Like Meiers, Wooden is classified as a White Man. Having immersed ourselves into the life and times of the Rev. Jim Jones, we'll seek better answers about how "father" was able to acquire and kill nearly 300 children - most of them classified as black. Last week, Wooden told us about Julie Ann Runnels, a 12-year-old black female who was stolen by Rev. Jim Jones. When her black "relatives" saw her after a long period of the child being in the Peoples Temple, Runnels was without shoes, wearing soiled rags. She died in Jonestown. Gus pinpointed that the title of chapter 7, "The Paralysis and Failure of Government," is highly inaccurate. White government officials in Guyana and the US had the ability to move to action against the Peoples Temple and Rev. Jones.     The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Ikpanwosa Ero live from Canada. Born in Nigeria, is classified as a black female with the condition of albinism. This genetic mutation results in melanin deficiency and phenotypical characteristics often associated with people classified as White - pale skin and hair. Ero is an attorney by training and the first United Nations Independent Expert on the enjoyment of human rights by persons with albinism. Gus was literally front row to hear her speak earlier this year at the University of Washington. She detailed the importance of words and even shared an anecdote about her being accused of wielding “white privilege” because of her melanin deficiency. International Albinism Awareness Day was just last month, so we'll ask how she advocated on that day. We’ll also inquire about her definition of Racism and if she’s noted White people’s fascination with albino tigers, albino porcupines, albino skunks and all the mutant critters of the world.
