  • #302 - 5 Things To Quit Right Now
    Jul 21 2024

I’ve been talking to several working moms lately and have been interested in the things they’re doing that are making it difficult for them to live their best lives. They’ve been sharing what’s working and what isn’t, but they’re also seeing their life from “inside their box.”

What I mean by this is that they can get so caught up in their daily routines and struggles that it's hard for them to see things objectively. It's like they're stuck in a "box" made up of their comfort zones, habits, societal expectations, and personal insecurities.

The truth is that we’re all inside our own box made up of our upbringing and beliefs we’ve accumulated over the years. But in order to make the most out of life, there are a few things you need to consider quitting.

This week on the CPA MOMS Podcast, I’m going to discuss each of the 5 things to quit right now and what you can begin to do to live your best life.

    Jul 7 2024

For this episode, I decided to look at the most downloaded episodes. It was so much fun to go down memory lane and see which episodes resonated with you all the most.

Once I had a list of the most popular episodes, I decided that listening to each episode was great, but if you don’t act on the information, it’s not as helpful as it could be. As I always tell my coaching clients, knowledge isn’t power; applied knowledge is power.

So today, I want to help you apply what you learn in each episode by offering you questions to consider for each of the most popular episodes. This is not an episode to just listen to; it’s an episode that will help you apply what you’re learning in a way you probably haven’t done before.

This week on the CPA MOMS Podcast we summarize the most popular episodes and share questions for each episode so that you can explore what you learn further.

Transitioning from full-time to part-time work is a big decision for many working moms. It’s a choice that can bring numerous benefits but also comes with its own set of challenges.

In our fast-paced world, balancing the demands of work and family life can feel like a juggling act. However, more and more moms are discovering that part-time work can be a great way to find that balance.

Did you know that the number of part-time workers has been steadily increasing? According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly 20% of employed women in the United States were working part-time as of 2022.

In the whirlwind of tax deadlines, soccer practice, and bedtime stories, it's easy to lose sight of our own goals and dreams when we’re dealing with the demands of everyday life. But here's the truth: you deserve to create and live your dream life.

I understand that all your responsibilities can sometimes feel overwhelming. But amidst the chaos, there lies the opportunity to create the life you've always envisioned.

For example, a life where you wake up each morning feeling excited and energized, knowing that your day is filled with purpose and passion. A life where you have the freedom to pursue your career ambitions without sacrificing precious moments with your loved ones.

A life where you prioritize self-care and self-discovery, knowing that by nurturing yourself, you become a better accountant, a better mom, and most importantly, a better version of yourself.

But why, you may ask, is it so important to create our dream life? Countless studies have shown that individuals who align their lives with their values and passions experience greater levels of satisfaction and fulfillment.

  • #296 - Why Ambition Isn't Something to Be Ashamed Of
    Jun 9 2024

When you hear the word "ambition," what do you think of? It probably brings to mind images of unstoppable determination, a fierce drive, and the hunger to achieve big things.

Ambition is seen as a great quality, something that pushes people to aim high and go after their dreams. But if we stop and picture ambitious individuals, how often do we imagine women in that role?

The truth is that society has taught us to associate ambition more with men, suggesting that women belong more in supporting roles than in leadership positions or chasing big goals. Despite all the progress we've made towards gender equality, this idea still persists, clouding our perceptions of ambitious women.

This week on the CPA MOMS Podcast we discuss why we have a double standard and normalizing ambition.
