  • Is There a Problem? Conflict Resolution
    Jun 28 2024

Welcome to Season 4! We're starting off this season discussing conflict resolution and avoidance in friendships. When an issue arises sometimes it can cause a separation between friends. People can be uncomfortable with resolving a disagreement for many reasons we discuss in today's episode. This may influence someone to avoid conflicts by trying to make peace quickly so that it never happens again. Disagreements are healthy in relationships, but most importantly how you handle them. It also may be worth considering how you communicate during the disagreement or conflict. What is your communication style and how does it impact your friendships? Of course, you know we had to include definitions and links to what we discussed. We got you, guys! As always, thank you for listening!

  • The Loneliness Epidemic
    Nov 10 2023

    Hey Listeners!

Disclaimer: The use of pandemic and epidemic are not interchangeable. Dr. Vivek Murphy described this as the loneliness epidemic. A note of error on Scylla's behalf as this could be easily conflated by our listeners.

On this episode of The Common Nomad Podcast, Edward & Scylla discuss the loneliness epidemic that was introduced by Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murphy. On June 29, 2023, Dr. Vivek Murphy spoke about the plaguing mental health crisis: loneliness. It is unfortunate to hear that this has been an issue before the COVID-19 pandemic. If Americans are as lonely as Dr. Murphy claims, what does that say about the state of friendships?
