    In this episode, K.P. chats with Canadians catcher Jackson Hornung and pitcher Connor O’Halloran during the most recent homestand at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium. Hornung, who has also played first base and left field for the C’s, is from the Boston area and—surprisingly—rooted against the Bruins in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final against Vancouver. O’Halloran, a lefty, was drafted by the Blue Jays in 2023, following in his father Greg’s footsteps, as Greg was was drafted by Toronto in 1988.

    In this episode, K.P. chats with Canadians infielder Nick Goodwin prior to a recent home game at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.

    Selected by the Blue Jays in the seventh round of the 2023 MLB amateur draft out of Kansas State University, the now-22-year-old is currently hitting .220 with eight homers and 28 RBIs in 56 games with the Canadians. He started his pro career with Dunedin in 2023 and was called up to Vancouver late last season. He saw action in the 2023 Northwest League championship series after an injury to Peyton Williams, and Goodwin took advantage of his opportunity by homering in the series-clinching victory.

    Goodwin grew up in a baseball family, as his father David Goodwin played in the Kansas City Royals organization as a first baseman from 1998-2000. His uncle Mark Goodwin was also an outfielder/first baseman in the Baltimore Orioles system in 1985-86.

Signed by the Blue Jays as a free agent in June 2023, the now-25-year-old batted .270 in 20 games with the Canadians last season, beginning his Vancouver stint with a six-game hitting streak. With the Canadians this season, Jeff has hit four home runs in 43 games so far.

Ohashi had spent the last three seasons with Dunedin before beginning this 2024 season with the Canadians. As of the final week of May 2024, he was 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA in 12 appearances, being unscored upon in 11 of those outings.

A non-drafted free agent signed by the Blue Jays in 2022, McCarty was one of the hitting stars for the Canadians in the 2023 Northwest League championship series (with a .333 batting average and two doubles in four games).
