The Design, Culture, & Experience Show

De: OpenEye Global
  • Resumen

  • The DCX Show is where inspiration meets aspiration. We’re chatting with creatives, designers, musicians, and creators of culture & experience to find out why and how they do what they do. Why? Because it drives humanity forward and creates the fabrics that bind us. Everyday life is predicated on culture, and our curiosity and dedication for growing culture is broken down and explored with every conversation we have. We understand you because we are you. Experience makers and curators are driven by a force not shared by many. We look to these rogue creatives in a constant pursuit of creating awesome and leaving a WOW factor with clients, friends, colleagues, and the random person we just met at the brewery.

  • [Episode 020] Advancements in Gesture Interaction
    Jul 11 2020

Welcome to another episode of the Design, Culture, and Experience Show. I am your host Bryan Meszaros and today I am joined by Meg Athavale the Founder and CEO of LUMOplay an interactive software development agency.

    Discussion Topics:

    • What is the history of LUMOplay, how and why did you start the agency?
    • There is obviously a great debate going on today, to touch or not to touch. Have we seen the pendulum swing the other way and more applications will be focusing on the integration of gesture and facial recognition?
    • What “tools / technologies” do you see are making it easier to develop gesture based applications?
    • UX / UI Design is very critical to the impact of any experience. What is your process / approach in developing simplified experiences that challenge our thoughts on UI Design.
    • What future do you see for “digital experience design” and will be impacted by our reluctance to be in environments for a long period of time?
    • Gesture interaction to most is still a new behavior, how do you see the adoption curve being impacted?
    • Why gesture and voice together are greater than the sum of their parts
    • Why synthetic training models are going to make gesture better super quickly
    • Testing of Interactive underwater experiences for Dolphins

  • [Episode 019] Reopening Strategies
    May 20 2020

Welcome to another episode of the Design, Culture, and Experience Show. I am your host Bryan Meszaros and today I am joined by a few good friends and respected industry colleagues.

We always share and bounce our thoughts off one another but we took that a step further recently and teamed up to write an article around the balance of technology and design for physical spaces post covid. The article is in the June edition of SCN Magazine.

On this episode we are discussing the following questions:

    1. Re-opening strategies are top of mind for everyone but it’s more complicated than just “opening the doors.” From a DESIGN POV what observations or insights do you have that different environments should be doing to ensure a “safe” and “manageable” environment?

    2. The businesses that get it right and survive will understand that there needs to be a balance of design and technology. However it does come down to a question of investment and for a while a lot of businesses have been reluctant to invest in technology. Is this the catalyst?

    3. It’s a balance we are trying to create to make a space safe BUT what price does the customer / visitor have to pay with regards to their privacy?

    4. The erosion of confidence we face at this moment in time will lead to trust being more critical than ever. What can businesses do to keep their promise of safety? How do they stay true to their “brand promise”
