    Aug 15 2020
You've got thousands of followers on your dive centre business page. The problem is... you don't own your audience! If Facebook went bust (yeah, unlikely I know...) or if your page got banned - kiss goodbye to all your potential customers. You have zero information to contact them! In this episode I talk about how you can use social media as a teaser or sign post to channel people onto the platforms that you do own - your website and your mailing lists. Why your posts and tweets are only the start of the buyer journey Why your panic posting habits are hurting your dive centre What you actually need to post Plus, completely off topic but I'm super excited - I've got an IDC starting on the 3rd October! • PADI Womens Dive Day Edition
    Jul 18 2020
It's been a funny old few months, and this year's PADI Womens Dive Day is going to be very different for us. We'd normally be having a massive celebration, getting new divers in the water, BBQs, drinks, hugs and high fives.... this year that's just not possible so we're celebrating virtually instead! I hooked up with my favourite lasses in the dive industry for a chat about women in UK diving and how their "proper jobs" help in their diving roles. Bettie is owner of ProDive UK (https://www.prodiveuk.com/ (https://www.prodiveuk.com/)) and specialises in pro level training. Laura is the founder of ScubaPsyche (https://scubapsyche.com/ (https://scubapsyche.com/)) and brings her Clinical Psychologist skills into diving to help people enhance their diving experiences. Is UK diving too macho? How dive pros can improve the culture of feeling comfortable to speak out when things don't feel right The secret sauce to getting your divers to open up to you How dive pros can remove perceived barriers to diving (especially for women) Where do egos sit in diving? If you can't carry your own kit, you can't be a diver... discuss! How dive pros can use adaptive techniques to help every diver When help becomes a hinderance How Bettie and Laura's "real" jobs help in their diving roles and vice versa, how diving helps in their day to day life. There's a whole load more resources for dive pros on The Fifth Point Diving Centre's Dive Pro Hub pages: https://fifthpointdiving.com/divepro/hub/ (https://fifthpointdiving.com/divepro/hub/) tell all your buddies!
