  • Joyce Ross Salter Springs South Australia
    Dec 21 2023

I had a chat with Joyce back in Oct 2021 she was well into her nineties it was a pleasure to have a yarn with her. From starting her teaching career at Woods primary school  traveling the 12 miles from Balaklava  on an a BSA auto cycle and teaching my father Brian Parker along with a few other local notables , with about a 12 students in the scrub, to marrying local Salter Springs farmer Des Ross.  Resuming her   teaching career later on,  and even  teaching me . Her father served in the camel core in WW1 so we are going way back in time with this one. A lovely lady who sadly passed away last month. Vale.  I hope you enjoy this bit of time travel! Cheers Parks

  • Ben Heinrich - Wunderbar Lamb
    Sep 28 2021

From the Lofty ranges of Black Springs Ben has come to tell us that his VS was better cared for than others in a previous episode. There are  breeds of sheep other than Merinos; he had a Polaris (which rhymes with Belarus) which was a "Bag of Snakes"; and that things are more difficult to grab when they're wet and slippery!

Keep an eye out for Wunderbar Lamb in your local butchers or if in the Central Market as has now been revealed. Keep up the good work; and thanks for the chat Ben.
