  • The Fine Line: The 2000 Election
    May 19 2021

After the failed attempt to remove President Clinton from power, the Republicans are in disarray. But, so are the democrats. The 2000 election was so close. It should never have been. This week, we get into why it was so close and that it was a template for what happened in 2016. Lack of drive, bad impressions, and independent voters.

After years of setting up their new ideology, they have a candidate to use it against. A popular democrat that has some skeletons in his closet. History will show that it does and doesn’t work. But, it sets up the path for the future.

  • The Fine Line: The Rise of Newt
    May 5 2021

In chapter three, we find that the Reagan revolution didn’t just bring in the era of conservatism, but an untenured professor that managed to be elected into the House of Representatives. On his third try. He turned the Republican Party into the obstructionist mess that it is today. This is the rise of Newt Gingrich.

    Apr 21 2021

In the second episode, we focus on how the abolishment of “The Fairness Doctrine” lead to the rise of conservative radio and the elevation of its golden boy, Rush Limbaugh. 1987 was a pivotal moment in this nation’s political discourse that would impact the country in years to come.
