After two years of grieving the loss of his wife and focusing on his family, he was 'encouraged' (or, more accurately, catapulted) into the digital dating scene by his mother-in-law and a persuasive neighbor. The promise of online dating, with its easy access to potential partners, seemed enticing. However, Turner soon discovered that swiping for love was more like trying to find a needle in a haystack... a haystack full of left swipes.

Marianne and Turner also discussed the various dating apps available, with a particular focus on the ones that offer free services. Marianne, with her dreams of a romantic grocery store encounter thwarted by home delivery, is considering giving online dating a shot.
