Welcome back to Queer Tasmania, a new LGBTIQA+ podcast from North West Pride (producers of Queer Life Stories).

Coming to Launceston later this month is a production by Three River Theatre titled "The Laramie Project" - an impactful true story of a town struggling to understand the impacts of the horrific hate motivated murder of 21 year old Matthew Shepard. This is a verbatim play, meaning the dialogue performed are the actual words of the people of the town of Laramie. I had the opportunity to sit down with this production's director, Rae Smith, cast member Jaz Daniells and vocal coach Travis Hennessy to talk about The Laramie Project and the ongoing importance and relevance of this piece of theatre.
