    There was a time in my life when I kept wasting so much time, energy, and focus without realizing that I had bad habits and behaviors. I would get angry easily, feel frustrated, anxious very often, and lose hours thinking about situations that didn’t deserve my attention. That habit lived deep in my subconscious mind. It became automatic something that controlled how I reacted, how I worked, how I felt, and even how I lived my days. I didn’t know that this constant loop of anger, frustration, and stress was silently destroying my productivity, my focus, and my happiness.

    As entrepreneurs, we often think time management is just about calendars or schedules, but it’s not. It’s about managing your mind, your emotions, and your energy. If your subconscious is trained to get triggered, to overthink, or to fall into stress, you’ll never use your full potential, no matter how good your strategy or business plan is.

    Through my own experience, I realized I could reprogram my mind. I learned to catch those mental loops the moment they start and remind myself: this is just another kind of distraction, this is not helping my future or leading to a better entrepreneurial life. I stopped letting my emotions lead and began taking charge of my focus. It wasn’t easy, but with daily practice like meditation, affirmations, visualization, breathing, stretching, and mindfulness, I started freeing myself from these triggers.

    This is what I want every entrepreneur to understand: success is not only about your business, it’s about your mental health. When you learn to protect your mind, you also protect your time, energy, and creativity. Once you stop living in the past and start focusing on your future, you’ll notice how much progress you make, how much calmer you feel, and how much better your life becomes.

    So many people go to the gym to train, stay healthy, and take care of their body, but some forget the real purpose of being there. They spend more time talking, telling stories, and distracting others instead of working out. I’ve seen it happen again and again. There are people who come to the gym with real goals, people who are focused and committed to improving their body and performance. But then, someone walks up and starts a long conversation, and suddenly 30 or 40 minutes are gone energy lost, focus broken, and motivation gone.

    I saw this recently when a woman came early in the morning to train. She was ready, focused, and disciplined. But someone reached out to her and kept her talking for more than half an hour. I finished my entire workout, and they were still talking. And I could tell she felt too shy to apologize and walk away. That moment made me realize how easily distractions can steal our time and how we often let them.

    That same behavior shows up in entrepreneurship too. Many entrepreneurs say they don’t have time, but the truth is they give their time away to distractions. They allow people, notifications, and small interruptions to pull them off track, just like what happens at the gym. If you keep saying “Yes” to distractions that means you’re saying “No” to your growth.

    When I became aware of this habit, I decided to change. I started going to the gym early in the morning — 5 or 5:30 — when there are fewer people around. I found that I could train without anyone disturbing or distracting me, and I’d come home feeling productive, happy, and satisfied that I had protected my time and focus. I learned that the key is not always switching gyms or changing your environment; sometimes, it’s just changing your timing, your schedule, and your boundaries.

    Entrepreneurs can learn the same lesson. If you want to perform at your best, you need to protect your time, your focus, and your energy. Schedule your deep work just like you’d schedule your gym time. Avoid the hours when you know distractions will show up. Learn to say "No" to conversations that don’t serve your goals. You don’t have to be rude, but you do have to protect your growth.
