Over the past two years, Leslie Grisanti and her team have secured unprecedented access to the world’s largest prison, Central California's Women's Facility. There are over 2,200 women housed in CCWF - a system designed to favor men, leaving women vastly forgotten.

“Life Sentence” delves into themes such as mental illness, abusive relationships, and sexual abuse. We shed light on the challenges faced by incarcerated individuals but also highlight the universal nature of these struggles. Our hope is through empathy and understanding, listeners will recognize the humanity in those behind bars. Yet, the women’s voices and stories remain hidden from the public. Through raw, unfiltered storytelling, we peel back the layers of women who were born innocent, but somewhere, somehow, they slipped through the cracks and eventually landed in prison.
