Mishlei 25:15 - How to Dupe an Angry Superior (Part 2)

    Length: 46 minutes
Synopsis: This morning (2/5/26), in our Morning Mishlei shiur, we learned through a TON of different meforshim on our pasuk. Some of them took it in similar directions to what we came up with yesterday. Others surprised us with their creativity. We came away with several nice ideas, but the surprising MVP was none other than Rashi!

    Length: 46 minutes
Synopsis: This morning (2/4/26), in our Morning Mishlei shiur, we learned a pasuk that you shouldn't let your boss know that you learned. (I'm only half-joking.) Truth be told, the title doesn't reflect the ONLY way to learn the pasuk, but it does reflect the direction we took. We had some fruitful thoughts today, and I'm curious to see where our deeper analysis takes us tomorrow (בג"ה).

Mishlei 17:16 - The Fool Who Attempts to Buy Chochmah

    Length: 1 hour 53 minutes
Synopsis: This evening (2/2/26), in our Monday Night Mishlei shiur, we learned a pasuk that was NOT so familiar to me. To my surprise and delight, we came up with close to a DOZEN interpretations! We barely had time to learn any of the meforshim, since there were so many original interpretations. I'm sure that if we had time to delve into more meforshim, we'd see them taking similar approaches, but shiur was running late as it is, and we had to stop. At least there's more treasure next time we return to this pasuk!

    Length: 30 minutes
Synopsis: This morning (1/29/25), in our Morning Mishlei shiur, we began by reviewing yesterday's ideas, and then we explored three new approaches from the meforshim. I can't say either of them was a qualitatively new idea, but the applications and nuances were different enough for me to feel like this was a good haul.

    Length: 45 minutes
Synopsis: This morning (1/28/25), in our Morning Mishlei shiur, we started learning a "straight-up analogy" pasuk - one I've taught many times before. I'm already happy that we came up with a second "basic peshat," in addition to the one I usually teach. We also developed a few other approaches on our own and with some of the meforshim. Next time, I hope to discover something radically different. We'll see!

Mishlei 17:15 - A Couple of Abominations of Hashem

    Length:
Synopsis: This evening (1/26/26), in our Monday Night Mishlei shiur, we learned a pasuk that many of our usual commentaries didn't comment on because it was too obvious. A notable exception was the commentary attributed to Radak, which simply said, "This is clear." Nevertheless, we spent a good 30 minutes raising questions and problems, and then we came up with a nice set of really good insights, then learned two additional explanations from the meforshim. I can't speak for others, but I didn't think they were obvious!

    Length: 1 hour 16 minutes
Synopsis: This evening (1/19/25), in our Monday Night Mishlei shiur, we learned a pasuk about interpersonal conflict that initially seemed a bit too obvious and direct. Thankfully, we were able to uncover several deeper insights, some original and some drawn from the meforshim. Length: 1 hour 34 minutes
Synopsis: This evening (1/12/26), in our Monday Night Mishlei shiur, we revisited a pasuk that I have taught many times in my high school Mishlei classes.
