  • Navigating the roles of Parents & Grandparents when a new baby comes
    Sep 7 2020

The birth of a baby brings about many changes to Mum and Dads lives, their relationships, their personal feelings on themselves and the world, their new normal and what it looks like.

In this interview we talk to Dr Renee Miller to explore how Grandparents, who are also adjusting to the new arrival, fit in and their role when a new baby arrives. We’re also living in socially isolating times so we explored how these relationships change and connections can remain through COVID?

Dr Renee Miller is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked for over twenty years exclusively with women and couples facing difficulties with respect to conception, pregnancy, birth, postnatal adjustment, and reproductive loss. She is a clinical advisor (psychology) to the Centre for Perinatal Excellence (COPE).

  • Transitioning: When do we stop swaddling our babies and how do we not lose sleep
    Jul 13 2020

“We stopped swaddling and we recommend that everybody stops swaddling when they first see their bubs first signs of rolling and that can be from tummy to back, or back to tummy, rolling is rolling. It’s really important that parents transition their bubs when they first see these signs, it can be as early as 8-weeks or as late as 6-months, every baby is different.”

Sarah caught up with Hana from Love to Dream to find out when to stop swaddling our baby, how we transition our bubs safely and how to not lose sleep.

Hana is the founder of Love to Dream and is passionate about helping families achieve better longer sleep. Her swaddling and transitioning story comes from not sleeping for 14-months when her first bub was born.

This is Part 2 of a 2-part interview. Part 1: Swaddling can be found HERE.
