  • Do Skeletons Control You?
    Jul 30 2024

We all have skeletons in our closets (things we're ashamed of, embarrassed about, things we want to bury and act like they never happened). If you think you don't have any skeletons, I can guarantee you that someone close to you does. Our skeletons are disgusting, but how we deal with them shapes our view and walk in life. They may lead you to think you're a fraud or that you are better than you are. This episode looks at someone who became an expert at dealing with skeletons and will show the importance of having some go-to anthems to turn to.

  • Beyond Comics & TV ... This Is Real & Better
    Jul 23 2024

Who doesn’t love a good movie, TV show, or book? It’s entertaining, it keeps our attention, and it oftentimes gets us to place ourselves in a character’s position. The Bible has this same effect (if you actually read it). The book of Judges is one of those books of the Bible you may not be very familiar with, but it contains a collection of historical events that record superhero-like men and women empowered by God. It’s better than a comic book or a great TV show, and it contains events that really happened! Like all the greats, it contains impactful lessons.

  • That Ain't Love: Wrestling With Culture, Scripture, and Compassion
    Jun 25 2024

It is a major struggle to balance personal beliefs with societal expectations, particularly regarding “love is love.” This episode challenges the notion of accepting behaviors that contradict biblical teachings, emphasizing the importance of standing firm in one's faith and adhering to the commandments of God. Followers of Christ have to question the modern interpretation of love. Through Scripture and personal reflection, let’s prioritize spiritual fulfillment over worldly acceptance—and commit to God even in the face of societal pressure.

  • Satan Doesn't Make You Bad, but the Spirit Makes You Good
    Jun 18 2024

On a scale of 1 to 100, 100 being the best, how would you rate yourself in goodness? The phrase "He/she is such a good person" is pretty common, and there is usually a common understanding when it is said about someone. But what makes someone "good" in God's eyes? Sometimes we blame the devil for tempting us into not being good when we should be looking at some commonalities we share with every single person on earth. Looking at those commonalities can give us a new appreciation for God's great grace.

  • New Age Golden Calf
    Jun 11 2024

God's Old Testament people, the Israelites, chose to create an idol in the form of a golden calf and worship it. This may sound stupid to us, but at times we are just like the Israelites. History repeats itself all too often. Our culture has made an idol out of having fun and getting lit; the Israelites could relate. Is getting lit the new golden calf? What golden calves are you creating in your life? This episode discusses why we create idols and the consequences of them.
