  • Five reasons why you should move to Chiriqui, Panama - David airport, diverse culture, beaches and mountains always a short drive, and more!
    Jul 19 2024

Today is the last episode of Season 2! We are going to take a break while we complete our dome, receive our goods from our shipping container coming from USA, move into our dome, and work on some farm projects. We are excited to start Season 3 from our DOME HOME!

In our last episode for this season we share FIVE REASONS why we think you should move to Chiriqui, Panama. Whether you're looking for a quiet life in a gorgeous, tropical location; entertainment and culture in a new place; land to start or re-start the farm, homestead; or hotel of your dreams; or just want to try something short term - the province of Chiriqui in Panama is a great place to be.

We share reasons like having a small, convenient airport nearby; a city with lots of amenities; quiet communities; amazing beaches as well as cool mountain towns; everything being within a couple hours driving; and a lot more. We have lived here for a year now, so we are not experts, but we share what we've learned and observed so far. Enjoy and see you next season!

  • One Year in Panama - E & N interview each other all about the first year living in this beautiful, new country
    Jul 12 2024

We've been living in Panama for ONE YEAR now! This Friday's episode is a little different. Eduardo and I (Nicole) came up with some questions for each other in regards to moving to and living in Panama for one year now. We didn't talk about these questions before, so these are spur of the moment answers.

** We apologize that a big thunder and rain storm came through while we were recording this episode, so there are some parts where the background rain noise is pretty loud. You can still hear us, please stick with us, it doesn't last too long. We hope you enjoy our conversation!

  • All About Panama Series: The Rainy Season - misconceptions; what we love about the rainy season; waterfalls; and cooler weather!
    Jun 28 2024

Well today's episode was recorded at the perfect time....you can hear a big rainstorm pretty much the whole time we're talking! But, you should be able to hear us just fine. In this week's episode we discuss the transition from the dry to rainy season; what it's like; what we love about the rainy season; a few things that we don't love about the rainy season and more.

Some of the things we love and talk about is the lush green everywhere; the waterfalls; less tourism; cooler weather; slow, cool evenings; and how fast everything grows- like our pasture and new trees! If you've been considering visiting Central America during the rainy season, but thought it was a "bad time" to come, then take a listen and maybe you'll change your mind.

  • Dome Home/Farm/Life Update: dome progress; residency vs. citizenship; Panama elections; milking cows
    May 10 2024

We will be taking a break from recording and sharing episodes for the next few weeks. Thanks for your understanding.

In this Friday's episode we just chit chat about life and the progress we've made lately on all our different projects. We share all about what's been going on with our aircrete dome home and what we'll be working on in the near future. We discuss our two year provisional residency and what that means versus what citizenship means.

Panama's presidential election just happened and we had fun watching it unfold. We talk about that for a while and how really calm everything felt compared to how things feel back in the States during election time. Then we finish out the episode with some fun farm updates including first tree plantings, paddock planning for rotational grazing, and our plans to start a small dairy! We hope you enjoy listening.

Our youngest son can be heard a lot in this episode, so hopefully you enjoy a cute baby voice every now and then.

  • All About Panama Series: Bugs in Panama
    May 3 2024

Today Eduardo & I are talking all about bugs in Panama. We have experienced a lot of different wildlife after living in Panama, some amazing and beautiful, some not our favorite. In this episode we talk about the bugs that can be a nuisance here, how we deal with them, and how we avoid them if we can. We talk about finding a balance between good and "bad" bugs on our farm. And we discuss all the beautiful and amazing bugs we've seen here.

There is a lot of water here in Panama and a lot of sunshine, which both equal LIFE! Therefore, there is a plethora of bugs and wildlife here, which makes for daily sightings of all sorts of wonderful creatures. We hope you enjoy hearing our stories and experiences.

  • Daily life in Panama - waking with the sun, coffee with the birds, farm stuff, beach days, church, baking bread and more.
    Apr 26 2024

Today we are talking all about our daily life here in Panama. We thought it might be interesting for you to get a peak into what our daily life looks like with kids, cooking, farm stuff, building a house, relaxing, having a social life, and enjoying our slower lifestyle here in Panama.

So much of our life is spent outside, whether that is hanging laundry, reading books, swimming, cooking, relaxing, farm/dome stuff, walking/biking, beach fun, or just playing. We love our outdoor lifestyle, but also love our afternoons relaxing in the AC for a bit - slowing down and cooling down.

There are a lot of similarities between our daily rhythm here and in the USA, because of kids and trying to keep a consistent schedule. We hope you enjoy this episode. As always, thanks for tuning in!
