Dr. Fettke is an orthopedic surgeon who asserts inflammation is at the heart of all disease, and our modern diet is to blame. In this episode, Dr. Fettke discusses the most harmful foods we eat every day, which are slowly elevating blood sugar, causing insulin resistance, and disease in all areas of the body. Dr. Fettke explains that if your blood sugar is elevated, it affects every part of the body, including the brain, the heart, eyes, and every cell. Access the full show notes, including referenced articles, books, and additional resources: https://www.theprimal.com/lab/the-most-harmful-foods-causing-inflammation-chronic-disease Dr Fettke discusses where inflammation comes from, particularly from three sources: fructose, glucose, and polyunsaturated oils. Dr Fettke also breaks down the mechanism by which fructose damages the mitochondria of every cell and the science behind why fructose is as dangerous as glucose. Dr Fettke also discusses carbohydrates and the dose that is the poison. This episode is important for those who want to fix metabolic disease with nutrition. You will learn the simple science of fructose and glucose, how they cause disease, and the simple nutritional and lifestyle solutions to fix metabolic damage.

  • Ep 97 - Dr Casey Means | 93% of Adults Have Metabolic Issues (10 SIGNS Your Body Is Failing)
    Sep 15 2024

In this episode, my guest is Dr. Casey Means, MD, a physician trained at Stanford University School of Medicine, an expert on metabolic health and the author of the book, Good Energy. Dr Casey Means Book 'Good Energy': https://amzn.to/4dXiye1 Dr Means has decades of experience understanding the root cause of the most chronic health diseases, namely cancer, Alzheimer's, dementia, heart disease, and obesity. Dr Means asserts our healthcare system, doctors, big pharma, and big food are at the core of our current healthcare crisis, which focuses on profit, not root-cause healing. Access the full show notes, including referenced articles, books, and additional resources: https://www.theprimal.com/lab/the-root-cause-of-chronic-disease-and-the-link-with-mitochondria Dr. Means discusses how all the diseases we see are the root cause of metabolic dysfunction. Even though we might see different symptoms of chronic inflammation, it all traces back to the health of our mitochondria. The first section of this episode highlights why 93% of Americans are sick and why subspecialized medicine is destroying our health. Dr. Means outlines three main industries that are at the core of healthcare: big pharma, big food, and medical doctors, and the trifecta of what's causing metabolic disease: oxidative stress, metabolic dysfunction, and inflammation. The second section of this episode explains metabolic dysfunction (in simple terms) and how we can fix our mitochondria. Dr. Means explains specific science-based protocols, including nutrition, movement, light therapy, and emotional well-being, and how they impact the mitochondria. This episode is important if you have a metabolic condition in which the healthcare system has failed you. You will learn the simple science of how to improve your mitochondria through science-based nutrition and lifestyle tools for optimal health and longevity.

  • Ep 96 - Dr David Harper | Starve Cancer Cells With A HIGH FAT Diet (EAT THIS)
    Sep 1 2024

This episode features Dr. David Harper, who will discuss the root cause of cancer and the nutrition protocols to starve cancer cells. Dr Harper will discuss the truth about cancer and why cancer is not a genetic disease. Dr. Harper will explain the gene mutations that occur from cancer cells and the science behind metabolic therapy to starve cancer cells, reduce tumor (carcinomas) size, and ultimately prevent cancer. Access the full show notes, including referenced articles, books, and additional resources: https://www.theprimal.com/lab/starve-cancer-cells-heal-the-body-with-nutrition Dr. Harper explains the three axes of what causes cancer, hyperinsulinemia, hyperglycemia, and chronic inflammation, and the mechanism by which all three lead to chronic disease, which includes cancer but also many other chronic health conditions like dementia, heart disease, stroke, and obesity. Dr Harper will share the science behind the Ketogenic diet as a nutritional protocol to starve cancer cells and the role of Beta-Hydroxybutyrate, MTOR, and AMPK in preventing cancer (via up-regulation and down-regulation of certain mechanisms). This episode is important for understanding how to actively treat cancer with nutrition, the science of metabolic therapy and mitochondria, and how to prevent cancer through lifestyle changes.

100% recommend. My new favorite podcast

This podcast talks about how we all should eat. I thought keto was best, but going carnivore takes you to a new level of health and fitness. It has changed my life. It will change yours if you listen to it too.

Deep dive that's an easy listen

I love how deep and broad the topics are, but more than that I love that they're in language everyone can understand and I don't have to look up scientific jargon to understand the details. An all around excellent podcast full of great information for beginners from the true OGs and pioneers of the carnivore world.
