YA FILTHY ANIMAL! - This episode we review the Christmas classic Home Alone. We discuss how, even though there are glaring plotholes and horrible parents, the film appeals to the inner child in all. We declare this film a must-watch during the holiday season.

We discuss the games that started it all, Pocket Monsters! Even though it was released on the OG GameBoy, we still rate this advanced rock/paper/scissors game as a must-play! The 8-bit style is timeless, the story is good or mediocre (depending on who you ask), and a memorable soundtrack all packed into a game about subjecting innocent animals to fight each other.

NIGHTMARE SLAIN - This week we visit Yharnam in search of pale blood! A game made by From Software that rewards offense instead of defense, we both agree that you should give it a try! While the story is extremely convoluted (please watch lore videos!) the gameplay and art style are both phenomenal! We both believe everyone should give this game a playthrough!

Daniel and Jason review the 2009 Tarantino film Inglourious Basterds. We are in agreeance that this film is absolutely a must-see, as it's cast nails their characters perfectly. Christopher Waltz is enthralling in his performance as Hans Landa The cinematography is beautiful, as is the soundtrack.

  • Metal Gear Solid 1
    Nov 6 2020

Daniel and Jason compare the Kojima  game Metal Gear Solid 1 to the standards of today. Both agree that the impact the game had on the stealth genre (sneaking, cones of vision, etc. ) are incredible and made the genre what it is today. However, the game falls extremely short in terms of controls and graphics.

  • The Shining (Movie)
    Oct 30 2020

Heeeeeere's Johnny! In honor of the spooky season, we review one of the best spooky films of all time (IMO), The Shining! Whether it's the film's aesthetic, the unnerving audio, or Jack's descent into madness, The Shining will ensure that you are properly disturbed as Halloween approaches.

Both of us absolutely recommend The Shining to anyone who has not yet seen this classic! Kubrick's adaptation of the Stephen King novel is exemplary. The cinematography brings the audience into the Overlook Hotel and ensures that they fully experience the madness that overtakes Jack Torrance.

While the film does deviate from the novel, it still stays true to the experience.  We both highly recommend the film and novel.

  • Dark Souls
    Oct 23 2020

Git gud! In this episode, we discuss the punishing game Dark Souls! Whether it took you 500 tries to kill that one boss or you managed to fly through the game, we agree that everyone should die at least once (or maybe 500 times). While the graphics may be a bit dated, the atmosphere created by From Software will ensure that you feel truly immersed in the Dark Souls world.

While both of us have some gripes with some of the mechanics, the overall gameplay allows you to quickly forget those shortcomings.

Overall, Dark Souls is a game we both can recommend!
